Like he said about Borenstein, it'll be interesting if he hits in AA. Borenstein and Lindsey look like solid players to me. I'm higher on the pitching side, I see a lot of organizational depth options. Sappington looks like he could become a solid 4-5 guy at the worst a solid relief pitcher, Green could be a 2-3 starter, Ricardo Sanchez has a high ceiling, Jonah Wesley is a breakout prospect for me, Morin/Alvarez/Maronde/Bedrosian/Scoggins/Roth/Wood could give us solid bullpen options, I like Stamets as a utility player too. 

Joseeeee! I'm a big Jose Rondon fan, I think once he matures physically a bit more and continues to improve his contact skills, he could become a fringe star shortstop

Exactly although I want to see Howie stay in an Angels uniform 

The only thing I could see helping the Angels stay under the threshold is a trade of Howie, Aybar, or Iannetta which I would not agree with right now. As much as it pains me to say I could see Howie traded next year to help the Halos stay underneath the threshold with the depth we have at second (Green, Yarbrough, Lindsey.) Trading Howie and Iannetta would free up about close to $15 million dollars along with Wells and Blanton coming off the books. Man, the Angels have really forced themselves into a corner

I sure hope one of last years draft picks, Mike Fish, makes the cut. Actually has some decent upside and some good bat speed

I could see Pujols, Hamilton, and Trout hit 30 homeruns, Calhoun and Ibanez could hit 20-25 in my opinion, Freese could hit 15-20, Howie should be in the 10-15 range, I think Aybar could repeat his 2010 totals of 10 bombs ditto with Iannetta, Conger should provide a little thump. If everyone's healthy, Hamilton's comfortable, Calhoun does turn into the player we all believe he is, and Ibanez can continue to find the fountain of youth, we have the the best lineup in the game

Weaver, Trout, and possibly Howie for me are guys I'd like to see stay Angels their whole careers, I think Skaggs could end up in that discussion at some point down the road

Frustrating 

After the Mulder signing and rumors about adding another starting pitcher, it only made sense that Blanton would be forced out of the pitching staff let alone rotation. We'll have Weaver, Wilson, (Free Agent), Richards, Santiago, Skaggs, Mulder, LeBlanc whose at least pitched in the majors, and Shoemaker in the rotation and Frieri, Smith, Burnett, De La Rosa, Kohn, Jepsen, Salas, Moran (who has to stay on the 25 man roster for a specific amount of time), Boshers, Rasmus, Maronde, Brasier, Roth, Wall, and Carson who I think they're a little high on. It's not great depth but it's a lot more than we had last year and I have a hard time seeing where Blanton fits in in all of this. Getting more and more excited for spring training

K-Rod and Weaver when I pitched, Howie, Vlad, Griffey (not an Angel but still), Pujols (before he was an Angel obviously), and Rod Carew when I hit

I didn't know he was only 24, these moves certainly can't hurt but it would be something if he was able to figure it out and become a key piece in a playoff bullpen for us. 

The 2009 draft was probably the best in team history. Imagine if the Angels still had all the players Bane drafted or signed out of Latin America: Obviously our cornerstone players in Trout and Weaver, Trumbo, Bourjos, Morales, Chatwood, Walden, Conger, Kohn, Alex Torres, Segura, Richards, Skaggs, Corbin, if they signed Harvey, Matusz, Posey, and Chris Davis, and Adenhart if he was still alive. Just imagine, a rotation of Weaver, Corbin, Adenhart, Richards, Skaggs, and Chatwood with a bullpen of Frieri, DDLR, Smith, Walden, Torres, Burnett, and Kohn and a lineup of, with homegrown players we probably don't sign Hamilton/Pujols:

3. Morales DH/1B

4. Trumbo 1B/DH

5. Kendrick 2B 

6. Segura 3B

7. Aybar SS

8. Conger C

9. Bourjos CF

Would have the payroll flexibility and/or prospect depth to make a move for a big bat to add to the lineup 

Xander Bogaerts, Henry Owens, Jackie Bradley Jr., one of Anthony Ranaudo or Matt Barnes, and Brandon Workman from Boston or Kris Bryant, Albert Almora, Starlin Castro, and a stud pitcher in a three way deal with Chicago. So basically it's not happening

You go Tanaka  straight out of the gate but Garza is a solid backup plan

This is a perfect fit for the Angels! Just imagine a rotation of Weaver, Wilson, Tanaka, Richards, and Skaggs with Santiago in the pen, that rotation has the potential to be the best in the game. Another thing, there's no way the Angels are staying under the luxury tax threshold if they signed Tanaka, might as well go over. Sign Tanaka and Balfour and let's get ready for Tempe Diablo Stadium!

The thing about guys like Cano, Fielder and Choo, they're being paid hundreds of millions of dollars for a reason.  They hit RHP and LHP alike.  If they didn't, they would be platoon players, not stars.  I won't take anything away from them to make myself feel better.  It'll be tough winning the division, but I think we have a reasonable shot. 

Cano and Fielder but not Choo and while it's true they don't completely fall apart against lefties, Cano has a .790 OPS against lefties and Prince has hit .267 with a .803 OPS against lefties. While those are solid numbers, they're certainly not worth hundreds of millions. Stacking up on lefties will certainly help

If you don't sign Garza you sign Maholm, Capuano, or Hammel and Balfour. Balfour's value will go down after the weird fall through with the O's and the other pitching options won't cost much. The Halos would definitely need Richards and Skaggs to step up (I still think Garrett has #3 potential and Skaggs has #2 potential) but a healthy Weaver, another year of development from Richards, Skaggs and Santiago pitching to their capabilities, and a healthy Capuano/Maholm in the fifth spot would make a pretty solid rotation. Balfour added to the pen would make it pretty dangerous too

In a dream world where the Angels could sign Garza and Balfour, sigh
