  1. Do you ever have anything positive to say? All this pessimism and negativity is annoying.

Uh yes, I said Mark Trumbo could very well be the greatest Angel power hitter who has ever lived and Mike Trout is the best young player in the game. I also am very pleased with the trade for Jason Vargas. I am floored that we have a team with the greatest Angel power hitter who has ever lived, the best young player in the game, a great aquisition in Vargas, the greatest first baseman in baseball history, a perrenial 40+ hr hitter, and a year 2 year Cy Young candidate and the team is the WORST TEAM IN BASEBALL.

  2. Scoscia should have been fired 6 seasons ago. The fact he is the longest tenured coach doesn't make him immune to being fired because he is the longest tenured coach by mistake. Because the Angels did not get rid of him 6 seasons ago is now why they are holding onto him? He is worthless. It is time to give it up and move on from this losing idiot. Let it go fellas. It is time.

  3. If it is not one thing it is another with this group. Playing defense the way they do just shows how unprepared and unfocused this team is. That falls squarely on the shoulders of the manager. If you were not already convinced it was time you should be now. The Angels will lose tomorrow night as well when Bud Norris faces Joe Blanton as Norris is a far far far better starter that game will not be close. This was the game for the Angels to win, easy win, and they have they heads so far up they ass. It is time to let it go. Bye bye Scoscia, you had a nice run. Honestly the only reason he is the longest tenured Manager in the game is because he should have been fired atleast 4 seasons ago when the constant failure by this team was already old. Now it is just laughable and it's time to end it, you cannot even argue against it anymore. We must all face the facts and move on with our lives.

  4. Bourjos is more valuable to the Angels then other teams will pay for him. He won't get you anything worthwhile for the future. He would probably get a middle of the bullpen reliever which is something we really don't need now that the season is lost and done. Trumbo is the most attractive player out there as he is seen on sportscenter hitting 475' bombs here and there.

  5. If you want to rebuild the farm system and start over then you're talking about a long term project. If it's a long term project then why would any player on the team right now be off the table? They do not offer this team anything, we are scrapping the season and this team for the next 5-10 years if that's the case. What is the point in having Trout and Trumbo play on a 40 win team for the next 5 years and then just sign elsewhere? Should trade them now and start the rebuilding process.

    Trout+Pujols+CJ+Weaver for minor leaguers

    J-Ham+Trumbo+Aybar+Kendrick for minor leaguers

Them's the deals to be made.

  6. Did the coaching staff bring in the National League 5era Joe Blanton and the National League 5era Tommy Hanson to be the heart of the rotation? You realize a 5era in the national league = 6 something in the American League = you don't win many games. I do not see the Angels pitching getting better, it is what it is. Tommy Hanson and Joe Blanton are not underperforming, they are performing exactly as expected so enjoy the ride.

  7. Blanton was a bad signing, but lets not muddy up facts here. Blanton has never had a full season as bad as Santana did last year. Or 2007. And arguably 2009. Santana is an inconsistent headcase who would go from having a good year (2006, 2008, and 2011) to an awful one (2007, 2009, and 2012).

I'm not saying Blanton is any better, but he's cheaper than Santana and while it's extremely unlikely he will pitch as well as Ervin in his best years, it's also unlikely he will pitch like Ervin in his worst.

Actually, Joe Blanton and Ervin Santan both gave up about 100 earned runs last year. Blanton pitched a couple more innings and had a 5ish ERA, in the national league. Ervin Santana also had a 5.16 era. Also, Blanton also gave up a shit ton more hits than Ervin Santana last year, like 40 more hits! Take into account that Blanton had the luxury of pitching around the 8th hitter in the lineup for the free out pitcher in the 9 hole and I would say Blanton had a far far worse year than Ervin Santana did. Yet, our boy Dipoto thought it would be smart to cut ties with Ervin who obviously has way more upside and bring in a scrap like Blanton who has virtually 0 upside. Listen, i'd be all on board with the Ervin trade if it meant we replaced him with something better, but we didn't. We replaced him with a 0 upside loser and now all have to suffer because of it.

  8. Who cares if Erstad is ready? Throw him in there. There is absolutely 0 to lose at this point. Hire anyone. How bout we go coachless let the players figure it out? That could be fun. Do anything, wins and losses mean nothing at this point. Let's have some fun. Hire that airplane pilot dude Sully or whatever who crash landed that plane on the Hudson, everyone loves him.

  9. Well if Blanton is throwing pitches in the strike zone then they will get pounded as he throws absolute meat. I think we may be better off having Blanton walk a batter then let them hit it 400'. The same goes for Tommy Hanjobs. They throw meat. 88mph fastballs with no movement or deception aint gonna cut it in the MLB.

  10. Joe Blanton is owed 6.5mil this year then 7.5mil the following year with a 1 million dollar buy out after that to get rid of him. I don't see the reasoning behind trading Ervin Santana just to replace him for the same money basically with a piece of garbage like Joe Blanton. It's not like Joe Blanton is doing bad, he's pitching exactly like you would expect him to. He has had a 5era and 1.5ish WHIP in the national league for the past 2 years which equates to a 6era in the AL which is where he is at now. Ervin was never ever ever as bad as Joe Blanton. I guess the reason they traded Ervin was to save the money in 2013 so they could pay Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols? THANKS DIPOTO. This is EXACTLY why this season is dead, because Joe Blanton pitches every 5 days.

  11. Pujols is immovable. Even packaging him with Trout for nothing in return wouldn't get it done.

You don't think there is a taker for Trout+Pujols for nothing in return? You are crazy someone will take on that crap. Let's do it, if it means we get rid of Trout then so be it. He is just wasted away on this team anyways, may as well trade him now.

  12. I would package Weaver, Howie and Pujols for nothing just unload salary. Then package Aybar, J-Ham, CJ Wilson, Fereie, and anything else they want on our team outside of Trumbo and Trout for nothing in return just to unload salary. Then we fire everyone coaches management everyone fire them all every single one of them all fired. The start from scratch. This is a 10 year plan requires rebuilding farm system from scratch and accepting a last place team for the next decade. We will get the top pick in the draft over and over and build a juggernaut. Then in the 11th year we will start making the playoffs and continue to dominate with a solid 10 years of world series appearances and championships.

  13. Actually, this thread reminds me that pessimism isn't inherently any more rational or truthful than optimism.

How so? The reason for the pessimism is based on truth and actual facts of what it happening. They were AWFUL in spring training and they have had the worst start in the history of the franchise over the first month and a week. All facts and truths point to the team sucking huge big donkey balls. Anybody who thinks otherwise is basing it on blind faith and blind faith is stupid.
