  1.  He can't be this bad. I believe he'll make the adjustments needed and will become a force in due course.

He isn't this bad,the  typical Hamilton press is on. He's trying to hard to make something happen, bench him and move him down for awhile, very likely he'll be a force sooner than later.

  2. I'm not done. Puljos looks good, Trout looks good. Hamilton has the worst K in BB, That is completely unacceptable.

The pitching blows, don't get me wrong. BUT

You know what I was taught as I free-swinging DB? I was not allowed to swing. PERIOD. One Game, two games, 3 games I'm not kidding. By the second game, yeah they'll be on to it...but guess what...it's all about swagger up there, and pitchers are still afraid to throw him strikes.

I challenge any pitcher to KNOW he won't swing and throw some meatball.

This ditch is mental...you might be surprised how many pitchers miss,

Effing stop swinging. Let's stay out of the gutter.

And I'll be ranting about the pitching soon....but it's on Hamilton to stop pressing and at least fire this Sh*t UP, I can't count the WALKS that have been handed to him, and he won't take. JFC, you can tell he knows it when he swings at sh*t.

    STOP swinging, I'm completely serious

  3. Hamilton needs to come around, ENOUGH ALREADY...Take a friggan walk. What kills me, is this guy really has the absolute gifts of any player, and he keeps swinging (now later in the count which doesn't really matter) at crap NO ONE could hit. UGH, the talent, the waste...COME ON!!

You know what, just for fun Josh. Go up to the f'ing plate and take 3 strikes...We'll celebrate that. I will howl to the moons to watch you never swing, MAKE THEM PITCH.  Little League buddy...you got this.

    STOP PRESSING

And GREAT Win tonight, I'll take it.

    1. Field of Dreams (1989)
    2. The Bad News Bears (1976)
    3. Bull Durham (1988)

    5. A League of their Own (1992)
    6. Fever Pitch (2005)
    7. The Natural (1984)
    8. Moneyball (2011)
    9. Mr. 3000 (2004)
    10. Baseball (1994 Mini-Series)

Number 1,2,3,4 on the money. League of Their Own, Fever Pitch better than The Natural and Moneyball?

    no, just NO.

  5. As I said before, Any baseball movie to me is good. I really liked Moneyball....I also saw a movie a couples of months ago starring Clint Eastwood, Trouble With The Curve that I thought was prettyg good....a little far fetched but good. I mean, come on...it's got Eastwood in it.

Trouble With The Curve seemed like more a father/daughter movie, but yeah it was okay, not realistic but definitely worth a watch.

  6. This could be a disaster if things don't get figured out soon. I'm still very optimistic that this team makes the playoffs but things have to change very soon.

We're in an absolute win now type situation. Hamilton and Pujols have a 2-3 year window before they start declining. If we finish under or near .500 this year, the whole roster could blow up. We don't have the luxury of having an even semi good farm system to be able to just rebuild or restock the roster so things need to start settling in place now.

Dipoto did a piss poor job of getting this bullpen fixed the past 2 off seasons. The Frieri trade and Burnett/Madson signings were great but this bullpen needed more than that. Relying on Downs after his horrible 2nd half last year and Jepsen, who has been inconsistent his whole career, was dumb. He could've made several low risk signings to give this pen depth and a chance for someone to emerge, just like the Rays have done for years. We're at the point where Dane freaking De La Rosa was going to be used in a 1 run game yesterday.

The Blanton signing sucked, no doubt. His peripherals are fine and dandy but when you're letting HR up at his rate, you can throw those out the window. The Vargas and Hanson deals were perfectly acceptable but relying on those 2 and Blanton to be in a rotation with Weaver and his injury/velocity concerns and CJ's subpar performance last year was way too risky. There had to be better options available. What made these moves even more concerning was that he made no other signings for insurance. None.

Like I said, I'm trying to remain optimistic but there are obviously some huge red flags now. The starters look horrible, the bullpen looks bad, and the offense hasn't clicked at all yet. Things need to get going NOW.

    THIS.

  7. What would you guys have done this year? Imo, keep Morales and sign Saunders. Trading Walden for Hanson was fine, but he shouldn't have been anything other than a #5. We never should have signed Blanton and traded for Vargas. I also would have kept Greinke since we paid Hamilton the same thing and needed SP help more than offense. Or just not sign Greinke and use that money to sign some other quality SPs.

    Agreed^

I've never seen a rotation put together as poorly as this one.

Agree, Dipito should start looking for another job. The entire management needs to be looked at.

  8. So fire another GM? Whats the end game here? I watch this team, and while I certainly don't think Sosh is the main reason for this teams failures, he obviously isn't able to capitalize on the talent he does have. Let's be honest, all teams have holes in their pitching staffs and line-ups.

Yes, I would fire Dipito at the end of the season. It's nothing personal against him, I like him.

let's be honest, the Angels are one of the worst teams in baseball right now, we aren't talking about a "couple holes"

  9. Well, it's part of the point. They didn't score even half of 7. Don't blame crappy offense on pitching.

No, I will blame the pitching. It's the black hole where momentum goes to die. The team will hit, they'll score plenty of runs but this pitching staff will never hold anyone. They can't even hold back horrible teams. It would be nice if Trout, Puljos and Hamilton could save this team, but they can't. Nor can Sosh.

It's on Dipito to save the season.

  10. I just think, the Angels have had three general managers in the last few years.  Stoneman was criticized for being too conservative,  Reagins was a disaster and now it's Dipitos fault. I just look at the last three seasons, coaches have changed, players have changed, GM's have changed, the Angels have signed high dollar free agents, they have promoted from within, and yet the losses are still pilling up. It's getting really hard to place blame everywhere else and give Mike a pass.

What can Sosh do when he has no one reliable to throw? That's Dipito, and any other GM. I don't even care about Sosh, just the fact that anyone can watch this team and think it's his fault is a little mind-boggling.

  11. This all started with hiring Reagins, which was a disastrous hiring.

Arte Moreno, please learn something about the game of baseball, thank you.

How come Minnesota can find decent pitchers like Correia, but Dipoto settles for basically barely warmed over leftovers like Blantana and Hanson? Not to mention the joke that is Mark Lowe?

because Dipoto is not a good GM. If he wants to prove he is, he starts making some serious moves right now.

  12. What does it matter when they can only score 2?

It wouldn't have mattered if they scored 7, that's the point. Every time the offense puts a run on the board, no matter how crappy the opposing team is, the pitching immediately gives up runs. It's called momentum. That's how the pitching is going to drag down everything.

I think CJ will be better this year, and hopefully Weaver comes back himself. Still need at least a new starter and two new BP pieces to have a chance

  13. When the starting pitching AND the bullpen is shaky, this is scary... Butcher should probably go, they need a new voice... but goes back to the scouting and the farm system, and not being able to bring guys up through the organization.... Adenhart  was a rotten break... any trades they can make at the deadline for prospects would be helpful, but not sure the Angels have that much to trade.

Trumbo likely the only one to fetch anything to make a difference. You might get a decent SP and a couple BP pieces.

And that won't happen anyway. There is nothing to trade. You have to give anyone in the system a shot, and cross your fingers.

  14. well, I'm sure it makes fans feel better if it were so easy as "Sosh's fault"

    Dream on.

The entire FO must be on drugs to not send Lowe down. He's the worst pitcher I've seen in recent memory.

    And the Starters? More trouble.

It's going to be a race to the finish, race to last place between Houston and this team. The Mariners are better. The Rangers are better and the A's are better.

Drastic trades or bring up AA and AAA pitchers, that's all there is to it.
