One thing I liked about this game is how the whole roster got in on it. Great way to get everyone into the season.

Yeah, the not running for Trumbo but pinch running Romine for Pujols was the hard part for me to figure out.

Um, what am I missing? Not a single reliever who pitched tonight is projected to break camp. And our B squad hitting. Weave had a great night. Mission Accomplished. Score matters not a bit.

I kind of wish "a bucket of balls" would have been a poll option.  But since it's not, I'm voting for none of the above.  It'll be some guy who'll never sniff the big league outfit.  But that's JUST FINE if the Yankees do end up paying $13 million.

Seems like he pitched well in his September call up last fall, and didn't look too bad this last week or two after an awful start to spring training.  Why AA, as opposed to AAA, for Nick Maronde?  Didn't he put in half a year at AA last year?

Think about how much patience he has shown before executing this trade. At several points last season he could have released Vernon altogether and no one would have faulted him. At last year's trade deadline he easily could have executed a trade and received back maybe $1M-$2M and many here would have said hallelujah. This spring he has massaged Wells' ego, saying he "couldn't have handled this more professionally," and somehow he has coaxed an almost-certainly inflated batting performance out of Wells against second-tier pitching. Dipoto is now trading Wells at his high water mark value-wise, somehow getting $13M back, when the Yankees' backs are against the wall and he can leverage the absolute best case scenario.

Well done, sir. Well done.
