Houston is in 1st place in the AL West.
And the Angels are tied for last place already.

Nelson Cruz is my favorite player to watch on national TV.

This tournament is really set up to hide just how much better the US is than everyone else.
It's played at the time of year where US players are just starting to practice, after the latin countries have finished winter ball and the asian countries seasons have ended.
The eligibility rules allow American MLB players to play for the country their grandma came from, most Americans will qualify for more than one roster if they really want to play some where, this keeps the level of play at at least a minor league level all around.
US players aren't all excited about playing and rep'ing their country, and Joe Torre manages like these are spring training games.
The series comes down to one or two games at a time, and in baseball we all know that one game is unpredictable.
A lot of these players are obscure and the US has never seen or faced them before - this helps even the playing field.
Very true.
But still, a team with USA on their shirts losing in front of millions around the world is not fascinating.

Dammit.
How many times have we seen other countries celebrate on our soil?
Pulling Wright was the backbreaker. And Hosmer the best we have at 1st base? Really?

I don't live in the US anymore, so I don't understand how you guys feel. But it makes me sick. Win this thing for once please.
-
I dunno. It's as weird as how 100% of USA's all stars sucking in international games.
-
You may think so, but the rest of the world doesn't seem to.
I hear the "MLB is overrated" all over twitter in Japan.
-
Wow. US baseball is becoming an embarrassment.

Taiwan was heck of a team. One of the most nerve wrecking games I've ever seen.
If it was an Angels postseason game, I might have fainted.

Yea, have to give Brazil serious props. They have great chemistry over there, the atmosphere in their dugout looked so bright.
They were a line drive dropping from the glove of a leaping second baseman away from stealing a game from us.

Nice, I'm from Tustin but I call Japan, my home now too.
Looking forward to beat Brazil and Barry Larkin tonight in the 1st round of the WBC.
