LOL at being worried about a pitcher giving up runs in ST. These guys are literally using these games to work on specific pitches, situations, and spots. Shohei said he wanted to throw his curve a lot more today. Last time he only wanted to throw his splitter as an out pitch. The concerns come when their velocity drops, when they can’t locate their fastball at all, or when they get hurt. Everything else is quite literally on purpose.
Yeah, I'm not worried one bit. He faced and dominated the A's this Spring and most of those players knew what was coming from prior experience. Perhaps he was testing some new locations and seeing what pitches the hitters liked, kind of like running an experiment.

Don't pitchers take the longest to settle in? remember It's always the hitters who come out the gate roaring during season's start whether it's Spring training or early season baseball. Josh Hamilton had a great Spring. Remember Chris Shelton's meteoric early season? Who? Exactly.

It's great news. MV will be excellent. The return of Daron Sutton is the cherry on top.
But I am still going to miss Victor.
Well, Victor left on his own accord so the loss isn't painful really.
I'll also add that I find Mota kind of abrasive, not sure how he keeps climbing the ladder. I guess some like his work ethic or enthusiasm. Gubi as well, he's a little goofy sometimes and over enthusiastic.

Longtime lurker, I made an account because this is crazy news, games will be more bearable to watch win or lose, also Sutton is even better imo. I realize that Matty V wants to cover Mike Trout before he loses that opportunity and he must see something in the team to have chosen us over the Dodgers, perhaps he also wants to cover some A's games (given he's an A's fan) but I think he's very non partial, given he does national games and will continue to do so.

Angels hire Matt Vasgersian as their new PBP announcer

The only caveat I have with Matt V is that he might be too impartial, while Sutton will be noticeably partial since he's a publicly asserted Angels fan. Other than that, the home run and walk off calls will be many times better.
