  1. Went to Boston and had Boston Cream pie at the place that invented it, The Parker House hotel where Parker House rolls came from. They will not allow you in the restaurant, even on off hours to have a slice of cake and coffee but instead send you to the bar. They served not a slice of pie but a preformed round that was still cold from the display case in the gift shop, dry and almost bland. Never been so disappointed in a place.

     

    Meanwhile, just across the street from the Bed and Breakfast we stayed at was a cupcake shop called Curly Cakes that offered their rendition of a Boston Cream Pie in cupcake form that was amazingly good.

    funny, i went there twice while in boston, and was able to eat it in the restaurant without ordering a regular meal

    and it was super fresh and literally the best thing i had ever tasted
