Yeah, Frieri sucks. He's the most reliable, best pitcherin the BP, but yeah he sucks AO. You are the most reactionary, predictable person here. How does the crow taste?
MOD EDIT: WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE PLEASE

His career numbers are only slightly better than Joe Saunders' career numbers. His career numbers on the road are subpar. Even this year, with his overall solid numbers, he has a 4.50 ERA, 1.67 WHIP, and .314 BAA on the road and some of you guys want to give him 5/60 or 5/75? His last 5 starts have come against below average offenses. I like the guy and he's off to a good start, but it seems like some of you guys are overreacting to his past 5 starts against below average offenses (KC twice, Dodgers, CWS, Houston).
Love it when someone discounts multiple good performances by saying it was against scrubs. Nice analysis.
Give credit where credit is due.

I'm in agreement. If it's OUR bull pen vs. a slightly tired starter, I go with our slightly tired starter who has only given up two runs in 6 innings.
-
guess you weren't paying attention. Williams was tiring. It was clear as he is a sinker ball pitcher and his pitches were getting up in the zone.I
So the relievers promptly give up 3 runs and you still think it was the right call? The question isn't whether or not Jerome was tiring but whether a tired Jerome or the bull pen was the best option.
Oh and his last outing as a starter had his sinker way up, too, because he had more fly ball outs than ground outs. Guess you weren't paying attention.
The snide remarks aren't necessary, are they? Too much personal stuff on this board.

Christ, Hansen...get your house in order and get back to work. These guys only pitch once every five days. How many more does he need?
They better catch on fire soon or this hole will be impossible to fill.

Some threads I totally avoid because they degenerate into name calling and irrelevant crap.

I asked if the code of conduct only applied to newbs like me because there are people here with significant post counts who get away with it all the time and I was told to "settle down" by a mod some time ago. Angelsandrams --- you and others get away with that crapola all the time and everything is cool.

Just bow out gracefully earnest.
So the code of conduct only applies to newbs like me, right?
Good to know.

Can the team needing time to "gel" better really be that big of an issue? Enough to contribute to this many losses? Maybe Haren had a point, but it has to be more of a contributing factor vs the main reason. Staff turnover can't stifle winning this much, can it?

What Blobster said....

Mancini, you changed that!

As good as Roth must have been last night, is he ready to convert to starting at some point this season. He has very few pro innings under his belt.
But at the very least, he could really help a beleaguered bullpen.
Not sure if this is a glass half full or empty comment...so from you I'll take it.

If Scioscia is still Mgr in the am, Lucho sits because he had a great game. THAT'S reason134 Scioscia should be fired.
You read like a broken record, FYI.

If it works for Psy....

Yep, Hamilton will be fine. My brother in law in Dallas called me to tell me how slow he his to start raking. Good to see back to back homers, though his comments after the game were a little odd to me.

Props to Butcher.

I know it's frustrating especially to AO when he nibbles, but maybe he nibbles because honestly his stuff isn't that great. He nibbles to get guys to chase or hit it off the end of the bat. I'm just playing devils advocate here to start a discussion rather than us just post the results.
IF that's the case, then why does Gooby go on and on about how great his fastball is?

I said it in the old AW forum when Hamilton was signed...I wasn't crazy about the deal; too many years and a lot of dough for someone that is injury prone and does not help with the pitching problem. So far, the root cause is Dibozo thinking offense is more important (eg, Pujols, Hamilton).
