  1. Mike Trout

    Andrew McCutchen

    Bryce Harper

    Paul Goldschmidt

    Evan Longoria*

Trout, McCutchen, and Harper give you one incredible outfield both offensively and defensively. I go with Goldschmidt at 1st for his youth and his combination of power with some speed. Longoria would be my next choice, a defensive and offensive whiz in the hot corner. Offensively this team would be strong enough that it would not suffer from having some defense first type guys up the middle. Pair that with some average to above average pitching and you've got a winning club.

Chose to avoid pitching because I feel it is too volatile. Injuries are far more common among pitchers than position players and I feel that the leaguewide depth at the position has been growing so no need to risk it.

*If Goldschmidt could successfully make the move to 3rd I'd put him there and grab Joey Votto at 1st.

  2. Why endorse it?

Because as a medical marijuana patient, I can tell you first hand how it has helped with my condition. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2008 after having a foot of my intestine surgically removed. I was prescribed a cancer drug called mercaptopurine, the idea being that due to the autoimmune nature of my condition that this drug would inhibit my immune system thus preventing it from attacking my own body. Mercaptopurine (or M6P as it is also known) is essentially a prescription for mercury poisoning. I was told that it would take a few weeks to start having an effect while it built up in my system. I was also told that I would need to return to the doctor every 6 months to have my blood tested to ensure that it was not doing any damage to my liver and kidneys. Suffice it to say, I never took my medication, instead I took to marijuana which relieves pain, acts as a muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant (for my intestines), acts as a mild and safe immune inhibitor, stimulates my appetite, and otherwise puts me in a good mood. Did I mention I have been healthy and symptom free since I began taking it.

Yeah, marijuana helps. It has medicinal applications as well as recreational ones and we should embrace them all.

I will now step down off my soap box.

  3. The Pacific Angels.

We could claim Japan, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, and a bunch of other countries as our territory.   Not to mention Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Polynesia, Samoa, and Oregon.

Geography isn't exactly your strong suit is it?

  4. Let's see

2014 he is guaranteed only  500K

2015 with arbitration he will probably make about 8 million (hardly enough to set yourself life)

2016 with arbitration he will probably make around 15 million (a lot, but again, nothing compared to a big contract)

Halos'  offer the man 180 million for ten years and get this done!

Give me a quarter of that and I would be set for life. 8 million is way more than enough to live, very comfortably on.

  5. Jerome has only had two bad starts where he got rocked.  I would think that he is in the rotation for now.  As to Hansen, how many games do you miss when your brother in law dies?  This may seem cold but he's been on the restricted list twice and has missed at least 5 starts, which has really hurt the Angels.  Obviously I do not know the details (and I shouldn't) but I do not understand the team's patience with this situation.  Are there not other family members that can help his wife or sister through this situation?

It wasn't his brother in law, it was his step-brother. I for one have no problem giving the man a few weeks to work through that ('though I am glad he will be back soon).

Back to the original subject, Jerome has pitched way to well to be sent back to the bullpen. I would like to see Richards get his chance but right now Williams gives us the best shot to actually win a ball game.
