Pretty sure those numbers are based on number of tickets sold, and not actual people going through the turnstiles.

GO ANGELS!!!! Go Matt Shoemaker!!!
The man known by some as The Cobbler needs to stitch together a winning effort tonight and snap a four-game skid.
Shortstop of at least this week Brendan Ryan brings his close-to-retirement AAA bat to the 9-hole for the Halos and his undisputedly fine glove to Angels Stadium.
Mike Trout brings his undisputedly great bat to the 3-hole again. Now we are all waiting for the $30 million man who is assigned to hit fourth to hit with consistent authority.
I'm still waiting for him to hit, period. Once (if) that happens, maybe then we can wait on authority, and then finally consistent authority.

I have no supporting evidence, but I just have a feeling that he is going to clear waivers and end up in SLC, so that we can call him up later in the year and watch him not swing the bat when the weather has warmed up some more.

What does that even mean as far as production goes? Nearly all fielding DPs involve 2 players while when he hits into one it's all in him.
Not only that but anytime there is a man on first and less than 2 outs he has a chance to turn a DP. On offense he only has a chance to hit into one when he is up (1 out of 9 times).
I'm too busy at work to really try and play with numbers on my own, but all I'm trying to say really is that he saves more runs with his defensive double plays than he loses from grounding into double plays.
-
Not to mention the fact that even if he does hit into double plays occasionally, he is involved in MANY more defensive DPs, by a large margin:
Season Team Games Ground into DP Defensive DP
2012 Braves 49 5 31
2013 Braves 157 16 86
2014 Braves 146 25 92
2015 Braves 147 19 116
2016 Angels 22 5 11

I've seen him hit the ball hard quite a bit with little to show for it. He really looks like he should be a better hitter for whatever reason.
I agree. All the talk prior to the season was about how he's so great on defense but don't expect much from his bat. I've been pleasantly surprised how often he's put the ball in play and I've thought to myself "wow he made good contact on that, that might be a hit", and he has just been getting fairly unlucky and hitting it right at people. That's baseball for you. I think if he keeps up the same approach, he'll definitely start seeing some of these drop in and find a hole more often.

2 games into the season and everyone is ready to throw in the towel. I will admit that I have tempered my expectations for this season, but there are still 160 games left to play. Let's not forget that in 2002 we started, what.....6-14? before we finally started playing up to our potential. There's a long way to go and a lot can still happen.

Hey, I've been lurking over at the angelsbaseball message boards for awhile, and every so often would actually post, but I generally just tried to stay away from all the vitriol that was present there. I've been an Angels fan ever since I was old enough to understand the game of baseball (so probably since about 1988 or 1989), and will be an Angels fan til the day I die, win or lose! I look forward to being a part of these forums as it seems there is much more discussion on actual baseball topics here, rather than just a ton of name calling back and forth. I look forward to engaging with everyone!

I've had issues with the stream hanging when I watch on mlb.tv (I'm in the SF Bay area and have Comcast), don't know if that's due to issues with the stream or simply my home network. I'm at work now and tried to bring up today's game on my laptop and for whatever reason it's determining that I'm in the local broadcast area, so I have to watch on my phone instead. Pretty annoying.
