I don't see that happening either. I thought I read somewhere they weren't looking for prospects but guys with service time. I know that goes completely against what they have always done.
-
My bad. Just read it on MLBtraderumors.
-
Do you think the Angels could make something work? Is it worth it with our BP issues? We could trade Aybar for Lynn and a bull pen arm maybe and lesson the blow. Thoughts?

After numerous conversations with player agents and other teams, Rays executive VP Andrew Friedman headed home from the GM Meetings with a better sense of potential moves, writes Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. The Rays are looking for a first baseman, catcher, and one or two late-inning relievers. Friedman isn't sure if their next move is a trade or signing, but he "would be surprised" if nothing happened between now and the winter meetings on December 8th.
Would a package with Trumbo and Ianetta/Conger be a good place to start to land Price? Who else do you think it would take?
-
What's the word on paulino?
-
-
Would the Cards like Trumbo even though they would have Craig and Adams? Just trying to figure out a good package for Miller.
-
Welcome, where you at? There is a few of us here that will actually admit it.
Frisco, TX

Or instead of trading for miller we trade Aybar for Lynn keep the prospect and Peter. Then we don't have to sign Hart because Calhoun can take that role and we have Peter, trout and Hamilton in the outfield. Then we can sign trout no problem
-
This might be too much of an over haul but tell me what you think. I like the idea of signing Hart for 1b, OF and DH. Sign Kurt S to back up Conger and Brian Wilson.
Trade Trumbo for Headly
Trade Kendrick for Fister
Trade Aybar, Bourjos & prospect for Miller
LF Calhoun
CF Trout
1B Pujols
RF Hamilton
3B Headly
DH Hart
C Conger
2B Green/Lindsay
SS Romine/ Field
Weaver
Wilson
Fister
Miller
Richards
Not sure what this would do to our cap but maybe it gives us room to take a flier on a Josh Johnson or Ubaldo. What do you guys think, is this crazy?
-
Before that it was Walden for Hanson I think
-
What about Aybar, Trumbo, Nelson and prospect for Craig, Freese and Miller. Something along those lines. I'm sure you guys can think of a better package just spit balling here.

Yup. I messed this post up from the get go.
-
Might be looking for a guy to play 2B.
-
Worse case we eat 8 mil for 1yr. Best case he is the Josh Johnson of old and helps us make a playoff run
-
I hear ya, but if we have a chance to get a pitcher with Ace type stuff when healthy for 1yr at 8 mil I think you have to at least look at. The big question is "if healthy".
-
Wouldn't cost a draft pick
-
Lol. He had surgery to remove bone spurs. That could be a reason for his failed season. Might be worth taking a flier on.
-
Is it worth taking a flier on him if he cost 8 mil for 1yr?
-
I hope Olt becomes a HOF
-
I don't want him either.
-
That's true but CJ has been solid and he would be cheaper than what we paid for CJ. We can trade Trumbo to TB for Hellickson or Maybe Cobb
1. Weaver
2 CJ
3. Jimenez
4. Cobb/Helickson
5. Richards
Keep Williams in the BP.

30 yrs old
K rates are back to 9+ per 9
Walks are at about 4 per 9 which is concerning.
Mlbtraderumors say he will command around 3 years 39 mil. I like that better than signing Garza.
