I would say the guy who took over a team that consistently drafted in the top three for ten years. His "plan" is probably working better right now. His "plan" last year was apparently to lose more than he won, "it's a bold move Cotton"!
I think they only have 2 offensive starters that they drafted, Springer and Carter, and their combined Batting average this year is .183
Out of their starting picthers, they only drafted Keuchel

Surprised they are in 1st looking at some of these batting averages
RF Springer .205
DH Gattis .182
1b Carter .152
3b Valbuena .220
C Castro .210
SS Villar .167
LF Rasmus .242
LF Grossman .143
C Conger .133

23 batters faced with runners on, 0 hits, 0 walks
5 batters faced with the bases loaded, 4Ks

Diamondbacks winning % this season without Corbin and Skaggs .452
Angels winning % this season .453

Chatwood is the 3rd best pitcher of the Dbacks, not too shabby
Sorry I had Chatwood on the Diamondbacks lol. Well anyway the Diamondbacks have a win percentage of .452 when Corbin and Skaggs do not pitch but thanks to an 11-0 record when either of them pitched they are in 1st place.

So what's your point here?
To show that these teams have a win percentage of .478 without these pitchers and are in 1st and 2nd with them.
-
This seasons combined stats of Corbin, Skaggs and Chatwood who were traded.
The overall record for the Rockies and Diamondbacks when these pitchers pitched is 15-1 or 94%. Only loss was a game where Chatwood pitched 6 innings with only 2 earned runs and 10Ks.
Overall winning percentage for the Rockies and Diamondbacks when these pitchers don't pitch is only 48% compared to 94% when they do.

Both were traded away. If you could have one or the other back, who would you pick?
I would pick Corbin since the Angels already have a solid shortstop and could really use pitching help. Who would you return?
Astros are for real

Ahh yeah you are right. Castro was their other offensive starter that was drafted by Houston.
Altuve wasn't drafted though, he was signed as an undrafted free agent.
Keuchel was a 7th round pick.
So basically Springer is their only everyday starter that they drafted in the 1st round.
