Pujols was breaking to second because the ball was hit to his right. He did the right thing. No idea why Dino sent him... It would be like sending Bengie Molina first to third on an infield hit.
That's right, he should have been held up. There's a third base coach for a reason.

Biggest surprise was Hinske getting 5 and Belisario not getting more.
I never saw Hinske once during the fight and I saw Belisario throw punches at everyone in sight.
I don't get that either.
-
Yep, Greinke understood the situation and that he didnt mean to head hunt.
Greinke deserves a lot more respect then Ian Kennedy, tired of that guy. Someone is really going to get hurt if he doesn't stop throwing at batters, he was lucky last night with Puig, fastball in the face. The only reason Puig wasn't hurt worse is he had a milisecond to start to turn his head and his nose/face didn't take a direct shot.

Some dude from the Dodgers was throwing some blows uppercutting some DBack....I think the one in catchers gear that almost fell over the rail.
It was Ward, a batting coach that almost went over the rail, Montero was the catcher that threw the guy off Ward at the rail, as he should have.
-
Ian Kennedy lead the NL in hit batters last year, (14) and is ALREADY at 8 this year. I think he was trying to hit Puig, just not in the face.
Greinke throws at Montero, but not even close to how dangerous Kennedy is when throwing at hitters. All Montero had to do was turn his back and seemingly had plenty of time to do so. Add to that Greinke doesn't get upset at being hit, he expected it. But you have head-hunting Ian Kennedy walking quickly to the safety of the dugout. At least Greinke doesn't run for cover. I'll grant him that.
Not the biggest Greinke fan, but entirely sick of Kennedy's dangerous pitches. if he can't hit anyone below the shoulders the D-backs need to call him off. Total speculation, but I don't think Montero was thrilled at those head shots either.

Howell and Belisario should be suspended without question. Ward may have said something but he didn't deserve to be punched and almost thrown over the railing.
I didn't see Ward doing anything and bam, he's getting punched multiple times and was way to close to being thrown over the rail. Montero helps Ward and basically they both just go into defensive mode, and take a lot of punches. Point is, I agree it was Howell and Belisario that should be fined or suspended. I didn't see Ward or Montero throw a single punch, quite the opposite.

Happy birthday #32, please continue to rise up like you have started to recently (.300 BA on homestand and only 4 Ks in past 26 at bats after 44 Ks in first 145 at bats).
The next step? More power! (just 1 HR and 1 2B on the homestand so far, none in past 5 games)
Check, there's your power, HR and the triple

Williams without question

O_O Those home runs were HUGE. Just got back from the king's game and watched the replays, that hamilton home run is one of the longest shots I've seen in this stadium, and Trout and Pujols both got theirs over the bullpen. Impressive.
I just looked at the ESPN summary. All 4 Halo home runs were over 400 feet and 3 of them were over 430. When is the last time that happened?
Very nice, and great pitching.

Yeah you're probably right. Just never like to see lack of effort especially when Bryce Harper is running full speed into walls.
That was a horrible route to the ball for Harper
-
I wouldn't worry about it. He's that good.
-
I haven't seen a guy hit the wall like that since Bump Bailey in The Natural. Bump's unfortunate death put Roy Hobbs in the lineup and the rest is history.
another LOL

SCOREBOARD!
lol
I think he's fine BTW
-
There are no words for how horrible he is. I skipped the game on purpose.
-
SInce when is lightheaded a problem with Hamilton? It sounds like he is in perfect health. Something else is going on.
He's always suffered from them.
-
Well, if there is any bright side. The Sox can't hit. Let's hope that continues.
-
Start Trout.
I think Trout and Hamilton both pitched in HS. it could work for a game, except for the fact they'd both accidentally kill batters.
-
Let me guess, TJ Simers wrote this?
Of course.

$140 million is what our 2014 payroll is at. Unless Arte decides to blow up the salary cap, I only see small signings.
He either needs to blow the team up, or the payroll up. Or this will not end after this season.
-
If one player could lose a game all by himself, that was pretty close
-
Exactly why this team is going nowhere this season. The pitching blows and will continue to blow. Weav coming back will/might help give the rotation another good arm(depending on where his velocity is at when he returns) but that's about it
If Weaver can return mid-month, it puts Williams back in the pen, and ideally Madson is back by the end of the second week.
Do I think we'll gain ground as it stands? No. But I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility, that's all I'm saying
-
The problem is not the Angels offense, its the pitching. Thats 63 more runs allowed in 30 games. OVER 2 RUNS PER GAME...
Yes, that's entirely correct.
-
I think we should start every game with the bullpen first. That way we can get a good gauge on how many runs we are going to need to win the game before we put in our shutdown starters.
^^^^^^this

It's never. I still love the Angels and watch/attend when I can but let's be honest: they suck.
The pitching sucks, the offense is cold considering the talent it has. That tends to heat up.
Not much you can do about the pitching, except wait for injured to return.
So, we'll take the Division Leaders, the Rangers. Crude stat, but worth a look. Runs allowed by the Rangers 98
Runs scored by the Rangers 137.
Runs scored by the Angels 129, Runs allowed 161
Only 8 runs scored difference between the first and fourth place teams.
So, again, this is THE month to gain some ground.
And, take a look at the rest of the Divisional games.
Josh Hamilton tonight

There's something wrong with this guy, no way someone with his talent is this bad, for this long. Add 3 horrible months from last season, I think he's done. The accusations of "he doesn't care" is typical when a hitter like this can't hit anything, I don't think that's it, I think it's something worse.
