  1. Hit them long and straight today gents. I'm jealous and am going to possibly try to get a round in tomorrow, since I need a fix. I like the back to back par 5's at Willowick on 10 and 11. A while back I reached the green on 11 in two only to 3 putt for the par. I suck.

  2. YK, you can grade the Ripken cards for less than $15 if you don't mind waiting longer for the cards to return. I actually used to work for PSA and can take a look at them if you want to let you know if they are worth getting graded. Unless they are gem mint, it probably isn't worth it as a PSA 9 doesn't sell for that much more than an ungraded copy.

Most of the cards from the late 80's and early 90's were massed produced so that is why the values have tanked. There are still some good stuff that has held its value and actually has gone up in value as well. It all depends on what you have.

As someone else mentioned, the 89 fleer griffey was never an $80 card. Maybe $15-$20 at the peak. The value of the Griffey now is $10, but there are so many out there that most people that want one already have one or more.

  3. Never played that short course. Are the green fees just for 9 or do they let you play the course twice? I've been thinking about taking my wife out there since it is a short course and she has only hit buckets with me a couple of times.

You guys should play Casta Del Sol. It's cheap on Friday's after 1pm. You can walk for $16.75. A lot bigger course than Lake Forest.

  4. Just got back from Casa Del Sol. Shot a 77 and it was an ugly 77. Par is 60 there as it is a short course.

The good...I was 4 over on the back thru 7 holes and had 7 pars on the round.

The bad...I had 3 triple bogeys and one double in the round.

11 over on the front and 7 over on the back.

Woke up with a stiff back that never loosened up. I paid for the round last night and still wanted to see how I would do though.

  5. I like how DR can paint a picture and you can imagine being along side him. I know the ramp he talks about at Hi-Time as well.

Then he throws in tidbits like these.

I couldn’t take it anymore.  I wanted to go and I had drained my bottle of Smart water ($1.68 at Hi-Time).

Just in case anyone wanted to know about the bacon mini quesadilla (starts at .75 cents at Del Taco).
