  1. Why trade HK only to go after Phillips? Why would a team trade w/ us when they could go after Phillips?

I said if we trade him because if we were to get rid of howie for pitching we would have a hole at 2nd base and theres no guarantee lindsey or green could put up howies production or close to howies production

  2. For pitching the angels should do what it takes to get tanaka. Trade bourjos for a young starter and let vargas walk i know that sounds stupid but hes been inconsistent since returning from his injury and has only had 1 10 win season. The ration should look like this: weaver-wilson-tanaka-richards(or vice versa)-and a a starter acquired for bourjos.

For this base maybe platoon green nelson jimenez and romine or sign micheal young

For outfield trade bourjos like I said earlier and go with trout, hamilton, calhoun, shuck and maybe cowgill

For first base i would keep trumbo but if we trade him we should look into signing jose abreu

  3. You very well wouldn't, but the Angels very well may. They have a plethora of promising second baseman in the system, trading Kendrick would free up 9 million this year and 9 more next season, other teams are legitimately interested in bringing him in and the Angels need young pitching. Regardless of preference, the stars have aligned for a Kendrick deal.

Your probably right we have green whose doing pretty good and taylor lindsey who might be ready soon.
  4. Moore's pretty far out of reach for the Angels. Thus, he's untouchable, unattainable. If the Rays want a Greinke type of haul, that's just a price the Angels cannot meet. They don't have the pitching prospects or a position player as good as Jean Segura was.

The Angels need to find a trade target that's interested in Howie Kendrick, Peter Bourjos or Mark Trumbo.

    I wouldnt trade howie
  5. LOL. Classic. You asked if it was possible to get Price and Moore or Hellickson for a package centered around Trumbo and Bourjos and then when literally everyone responds and tells you it's not possible you come back with 'nah, it's possible.' Nice.

When did i say it would be possible i asked if it was possible
  6. The two teams have explored a Trumbo-Hellickson swap at least twice in the last two years. It's making less sense with time though, Loney has done a good job at 1B for the Rays, they can't really use a DH-only type of player because they need that position to keep Longoria and Zobrist in the lineup every night and as a corner OF, Trumbo probably wouldn't be that big of an upgrade over Matt Joyce right now. And for the Angels, if Pujols can't stay on the field the Angels either need Trumbo at 1B or would need Cron/Calhoun to come through and become everyday players. On top of which, Hellickson, though he's a fantastic pitcher with upside, this season has really deflated his value to the point where you begin to wonder if you'd rather have him or Phil Hughes. Hughes would cost more money but Hellickson would cost Trumbo.

I saw the trade working out for both sides in the past, and it may still work, but it seems unlikely. As for Moore and Price, untouchable.

Price isnt untouchable the rays probably wont be able to pay him and hes a free agent in 2015 i believe. As for moore i heard last offseason they were open to trading him for the right deal And for hellickson i know the angels like him so i thought the angels could possibly ask for hellickson to go along with price id they were offering a big package
  7. If we define an ace as "someone as good as Kershaw", then Kershaw is the only ace in baseball. Nobody is as good as Kershaw, especially this year.

Weaver has been one of the top 5 most dominant pitchers the past 3 years, but has "struggled" a bit this year even though he is still posting good numbers overall. Not to mention he is in the top 10 amongst active pitchers in just about every category for career numbers including ERA, BAA, WHIP, win/loss %.

Felix Hernandez had 5 starts last year where he gave up 4 earned runs, 3 where he gave up 5 ER, 2 where he gave up 6 ER, and 2 where he gave up 7 ER. That's 12/32 times he gave up 4 or more runs. In the past 4 games he's had a game he gave up 8 and a game he gave up 5, while his other two starts were pretty solid, much like weaver over his last 4.

Yet Felix Hernandez is unanimously considered an ace, but weaver is not. OK

Apparently 2 bad starts doesnt make you an ace anymore. Weaver is a top 5-10 pitcher
