  1. Except he isn't currently scheduled to be on the 25 man roster. Cowart may prove to be an important part of the Angels infield in the years to come but for now he has to develop the skills to crack the 25 man roster before he can take the position full time.

Notice I said he needs to smash during spring training, implying that if he is a beast during spring he gets a spot and I then said for him to continue to be a beast during the season, so he can keep his spot and help this team win.

  2. Personally, seeing Trout as an angel for the next five years>>>>>>another world series win. We are watching someone who could go down as one of the greatest players of all time. Certainly by far the best player the angels have ever had. A WS win is amazing, but the excitement of it comes and goes. We get to watch Trout every single day.

Edit:  30-40 years from now, if Trout stays on the path he is on and becomes the legend he seems like he will, would you rather say, "I got to watch Trout play his best years for the Angels".  Or would you rather say, "I got to see the Angels win their second WS".  What memories would you prefer?  I know we would all prefer both, but to me its a no brainer that if you have a choice, its the former.

I wasn't suggesting to rebuild, I was replying to underthehalos idea of trading Richards/Calhoun if we aren't contending.

  3. I don't think they sell individual seats until end of February

I think you're right about that, but I'm referring to the giveaway schedule.

I mean its out but there's nothing on there expect opening day:

They usually have the list ready by December but this year they haven't updated it with any giveaways. I want to know the dates for the bobbleheads.

  4. And you know this for a fact that he is leaving?  And first you say we are rebuilding, and then you say that you are against it.  Again, you know we are rebuilding, how?  I don't think we will ever rebuild from the ground up, and I don't think Trout will ever leave.  And my opinions are as good as yours.

I never said we are rebuilding, I was replying to underthehalo, because if Richards is traded then may as well trade others. We may be able to pull through without Calhoun but definitely not our Ace. Trout loves to win and he loves the east coast. If we aren't winning he is going to leave to a team who is and to a location he loves. I would not bank on saying Trout will stay here if we lose and rebuild.

  5. Wrong, he's our franchise player.  Everyone else can go.

And when his contract is over, he is leaving, because there is no way he sticks through rebuild years. and then Halos miss a huge opportunity to restock the farm with one player. I'm against rebuilding period, I think the current team we have is good enough to compete and get into the playoffs and once in well you know the cliche, anything can happen.

  6. I sort of expect that we're starting the season with Nava/Gentry

I think that if things work out, one of Tropeano, Shoemaker, or Santiago will hopefully have driven their value up a bit in order make a trade possible.  Or if we're out of it, Richards or potentially Calhoun for a haul to help jump start the farm.

If they are going to rebuild they will have to trade Trout.

  7. Simmons was a great acquisition. We didn't need to worry about it this season, but next season we did. Now we don't need to worry about it. It's much easier to get someone to fill in the corner outfield spot as opposed to SS, especially an amazing shortstop such as Simmons. As you can see for next years free agency http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/03/2016-17-mlb-free-agents.html , there's really no one at short to hold the position long term.

  8. Before this home-stand i was having doubts about this team. But having been there at the stadium Sunday versus Yanks they showed me that they could fight and comeback they just didn't complete it. Tuesday versus M's they came back but also couldn't finish but third times a charm and this team fought till the end to complete the best comeback this year and to do it versus Felix!! WOO SOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW! Ernasty say's to believe because he believes well Ernasty I BELIEVE! Now don't disappoint me!

  9. In another forum I predicted PBJ to hit .280 while hitting Homeruns,Doubles,Triples but a decent enough OPB.. He has proved me wrong so far and hope he can keep this level off play up. We need him to keep it up

  10. I wasn't here on this during the bad things that were said about Ernasty, but I felt the same way although not completely. Ernasty the first months was scary to watch. Yes he got the job done but he did it by making the game interesting. Now he looks settled in and looks like the Ernasty from last year. I hope he can keep it up because we need him to keep playing at this "Untouchable" level.

  11. That's not enough. And who's the trade partner that wants Howie bad enough to give up good pitching?

Kendrick for young arms, I think it's more than enough. There's enough teams that are in need of 2nd base upgrade. Would they be willing to trade there young arms, well who knows, teams do start to get desperate though during the deadline. Young arms is a must for this team and Dipo needs to do his best to restock

  12. Another trade candidate is Frieri. Teams like the Tigers and Red Sox would definetly be interested. He's under club control for a few more years unlike Papelbon and his hefty contract. I'm not sure what Detroit can offer from their farm but I'd love to get an arm like Matt Barnes from Boston.

No we have to keep Ernasty. He is young and there's no one to replace him. It's a step back if Angels trade Frieri
