    If Hamilton had produced last year most fans would love the ruling and would be hoping he can stay clean and on the field.  Since he struggled he's a bad teammate for giving in to addiction and should feel bad because he's owed millions.  If you want to blame Hamilton for slipping up fee free but also blame the arbitrator for the decision, MLB/MLBPA for guaranteed contracts and the Angels for handing out the contract.  I'm just going to hope he can stay clean and hopefully get back onto the field and produce because unless the Angels want to swallow the 83M they owe him he isn't going anywhere unless he decides to step away from the game to fix his life.  Regardless addiction is nasty and not something he beats one day because it will last the rest of his life.

     

    You're not reading between the lines.  The Angels frustration with JH begins with the admission of drugs.  Management statements after the ruling clearly suggest that Josh is not doing what a highly paid player under contract who let his employer and his teammates down should be doing.  If he were truly repentant and making a reasonable effort to be ready to play, there's no way they would have said what they said.  JH and this whole situation is make a mockery of the word contract.  As a paying fan, it disgusts me.

    and diving plays in the outfield this season. The one yesterday will keep him on the club for the rest of the season. 

     

    I can see Shuck being the next Jeff Mathis. 

    True enough.  Or the next Willits.  

    The catch yesterday, though, was really a dive.  More of a reach-and-then-dive-to-the-turf-cause-he-lost-his-balance catch.  Still nice though.
