  1. I know, HATE is a strong word but this guy...

My cousin, the Cubs fan, was begging for the Cubs to sign him and of course I did nothing but tell him what a loser Josh was. Not shockingly, like any true (psycho) sports fan I jumped up and down when we signed him.

Between his awful Spring and even worse season, his responses to the media are actually making me sick. He needs to stop living in the past because I truly don't care how many home runs he has unless they are in that days game in an Angels uniform.

We've all heard that's he's a cancer and a problem and seem to be seeing it in live action right now. I honestly cannot stand him.

As a person, I'm sure he's a nice guy but as a baseball player he is absolute crap right now and honestly seems to care very little if at all.

    Discuss.

  2. I know the team and Trout's agent had some issues with his 2013 salary and it's nice to technically have "control" of the player before we have to lock him up long term or deal with arbitration but I would love to see the team make him an Angel for life sooner than later. A sign of good faith from the team this early could result in a (small) discount.

What do we think the contract would be? 10 years, $260 million?

    Thoughts?

  3. I'd say it's too early to call the Fielder signing a success, much in the same way I would consider it too earlt to call the Pujols signing a failure. With these long 9 and 10 year contracts you have to give them a few years before you really know.

We can assume, given how its gone and that he'll continue to age poorly, that it was probably not a smart move. All we can do is hope that he somewhat performs and leaves whence no longer can on his own terms.

  4. As a Chargers fan, I was SHOCKED that Norv Turner and GM AJ Smith came back last year. I told my wife I hoped the team would just bomb so we could finally move on to a new regime. Horrible fan? Yes and no. I took a big step backwards at my last job because I needed a different type of experience which helped me land my new job.

Whether its Scioscia, Butcher, Dipoto...whatever, change is needed. It's not just about this season, it's the fact that we continually miss the playoffs recently. Is it better to just continue the skid until a change. Hs to be made? I'd rather lost the next ten and make something happen later in the year than to be 12 games out at theAS Break with the same issues and no hope for the future.

  5. I'm having trouble accepting this season. My Chargers and UNLV Rebels had such bad seasons I felt like I really needed this baseball season and its driving me crazy to watch the train wreck thus far.

I am throwing around a lot of blame but the point is, we are 4-9. At this point, right now, a pretty bad team. Things can change quick but right now, we aren't good from top to bottom.

  6. Hey guys, been out of town for a few days but something was on my mind watching the Rangers series. This lineup is absolutely stacked although not exactly playing like it, should we have spent more money on pitching as opposed to Pujols and Hamilton? I'm a fan of both guys and am happy to have them but I cannot help but wonder how the team would look if the $50 mil/year would have be spent a another higher profile starting pitcher and keeping Torii.

I understand the team couldn't have ever known that Trout would become what he did but I am truly concerned about our pitching. Weaver and CJ just don't look right and 3-5 are hardly reliable. I'm sure I'll shut up when we start crushing the ball but for now, this doesn't look like a World Series pitching staff. If Weaver goes on the DL, it won't be pretty for us.

Am I overreacting to the bad start? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
