I'm fine with this as it makes the twins less likely to pursue high dollar pitchers and as I've stated, Odorizzi wasn't one of my favorites.  

Keep in mind that most of the secondary pitchers have qualifying offers attached. That’s effectively like losing prospect capital. They will also cost more. Just throwing that out there.

if he can find a way to get a solid, controllable starter for guys who's names are not Fletcher, Rengifo, or Canning, then I would be thrilled.  I wouldn't be opposed to including someone like Suarez or Barria in a Boyd deal.  I'm sure there would have to be a sweetener or two from the minors that we wouldn't like to lose.  

NL should be announced first. If Yelich wins, Trout will easily.

Ive been saying for years that they need to tie revenue sharing directly to winning. Losing, losing badly and losing repeatedly needs to be lead to bigger and bigger penalties, just like the luxury tax.

weird how he’s dismissing the perceived favorable points for the Angels and pumping up the issues.  Very convenient. 

This is the one thing I saw that Boras said today that concerns me. I don’t believe the Yankees or Dodgers or Astros will offer close to what we would be willing to offer in terms of money, so it doesn’t concern me that much. The playoff teams in general are either overextended or don’t have that much money to spend. I just wonder if Cole looks at our 90 losses and thinks, “They’re going nowhere.”

This is a genuine issue. The Angels, for instance, are a team that needs multiple pitchers and can’t afford to wait on Cole. If he sits around waiting for a mythical figure that will never arrive, the teams with the deepest pockets will look elsewhere and he may well have to settle for less.
