  1. He is going on cue, I doubt he has a green light. They need to harness that speed for better pitch counts but then you have Net-0 up there that hit what would have been a double play if Adell wasn't on the move.
  2. 2 good innings by Soriano. Lots of breaking balls setting up the heat. If he can locate that fastball innings will go quicker.
  3. You are the go to guy on progressive talking points. Click on the blue link to read why NPR is upset with their editor revealing backstory on their change in reporting policy. It's evil.
  4. https://www.npr.org/2024/04/16/1244962042/npr-editor-uri-berliner-suspended-essay NPR has formally punished Uri Berliner, the senior editor who publicly argued a week ago that the network had "lost America's trust" by approaching news stories with a rigidly progressive mindset. Berliner's five-day suspension without pay, which began last Friday, has not been previously reported. Yet the public radio network is grappling in other ways with the fallout from Berliner's essay for the online news site The Free Press. It angered many of his colleagues, led NPR leaders to announce monthly internal reviews of the network's coverage, and gave fresh ammunition to conservative and partisan Republican critics of NPR, including former President Donald Trump. "During most of my tenure here, an open-minded, curious culture prevailed. We were nerdy, but not knee-jerk, activist, or scolding," Berliner writes. "In recent years, however, that has changed." Berliner writes, "For NPR, which purports to consider all things, it's devastating both for its journalism and its business model." @Taylor?
  5. I really don't care this year about a win/loss column, it's nice to see them win but they are going to have to pay the cost of bringing these young players along. There is no value in sending Neto or Schanuel down to face lesser competition and replace them with guys like Hicks or other 4A guys hanging on to a MLB career by a thread, just to try and win a half dozen more games but not actually improve the team. Pay the toll this year, play for a division title next.
  6. Bauer asks, at what point does he get to go back to work and make a living? I guess he needs to read up on the McCarthy era and blacklisting in the entertainment industry. As long as there is support for unsubstantiated claims, ignoring legal rights of the accused, Bauer isn't getting back on a MLB field until an Old Timers game.
  7. The amount of complete games Blylevan pitched is staggering. The amount he lost was just as staggering.
  8. His walk ratio is the same as last year but with no batting average to prop that value up he's a dead duck at the plate, rolling over with weak grounders to the right side and lazy pop flies. His spray chart shows all 4 of his hits are the right side. Last year his spray chart looked like he was a switch hitter, using every inch of the field. That guy was a starter, this guy is a problem to solve.
  9. Adell has the second fewest PA but is still holding a 108 OPS+. That is over twice that of Moniak and Hicks and better than league average at this point. He is part of both the haves (good plate appearances) and haves not (fewest opportunities).
  10. That's @AngelsLakersFan prototype app. Give him some time, he still doesn't have the secret menu items programmed yet.
  11. Both sides don't want the war to end.
  12. Giving in to fear is not part of USC's Fight On motto. They should reconsider.
  13. A little dossapointed with Moniak for Adell swap. Someone thought the match ups were better.
  14. You are like the kid at the family getogether that keeps blurting out, I like turtles! The grownups all give you a pensive look, then go back to adult conversations.
  15. You hyperbolize a guy that no one speaks of. There is a pretty easy measure of his impact; is he still in the conversation or was he just a 3 day news event? There are no people waving a flag with his image at rallies, there're no statues being built, no peace awards in his name. No one in the UN are referencing him, his legacy was buried with his ashes. Hell, a photographer wasn't even given an award for documenting the moment, unlike the Vietnamese monk that suicided in 1963.
