I’d say the goal should be to find a LHH who can complement Ward in RF until one of Adell or Marsh is ready.
Dahl can likely be had for cheap (was projected at 2.5mil arbitration per MLBTR).  At a cost like that, he’d be my top choice.

Hey I am baffled by the profile pictures of people like Jon Heyman wearing a mask.
Why on earth would someone put up a photo with a mask on?  Do they think they can sneeze through my iPhone screen and infect me?
Or is it as simple as people being interested in branding themselves as “look at me, I care”. . .
So then are we to assume Ken Rosenthal (no mask in his profile photo) doesn’t care and is reckless?
What a stupid, stupid game.
Fuck these are weird times.
Maybe Heyman should wear a gag in his photo instead of a mask to more accurately brand himself as someone who shouldn’t be talking at all since he has a record of blathering inaccurate nonsense.

Ace Iglesias, probably

The AL West is the Angels' to lose if we land a legit starter or 2.

Good trade. But if we are going after Iglesias', let's add this one to the pen, too:

Bauer for 10 mil Snell for 10 Mil Harper for 10 Mil Trade for Lindor for free while Cleveland pays his entire salary.

If Philly is looking to shed payroll, would any of you be on board to trade for Harper, provided Philly pays 20% of the yearly contract? That puts Harper at a cost of @ $22 million a year for the first 8 and then $20 million for the last 3. Prospect haul would include Adell as the primary target but lesser value players because of how much contract is paid by the Angels. 

I think this is a huge development, based on what it might say about the finances of the game. If a team like the Phillies is trying to shed payroll, presumably they aren’t going to be players in the free agent market. And word is that the Yankees are trying to get under the tax threshold, and it appears the Cubs and Indians are also trying to cut.
If a team was willing to gamble that COVID is a one year obstacle, there could be tremendous opportunity to upgrade the team through free agency. 

3 dozen seems low 

Not holding my breath until it happens but it would make us the consensus favorite to win the West.  Hands down.

Of course we will, because the Angels will sign Bauer, Hendricks, Rosenthal and Hand, and trade for Snell and Musgrove.

We've seen a shift in front offices await from defensive metrics as a way of valuing defense into more of a hybrid model where the scouting serves to reinforce defensive metrics or vice versa. 
It's when a player is positively rated in both arenas that you know he's good. Simmons was visually and metrically a great shortstop. Iglesias is visually a good shortstop and metrically an above average one. 
Trout had always been a good starting CF from a scouting point, and metrically, it seems to shift from year to year. The end result has been a great starting CF from age 20-25, and a good starting CF from age 25-30. I think chances are, he's probably going to be an average defensive CF in ages 30-33, and then reach that point in his career, just like Torii Hunter, where he can either be a subpar CF or focus his efforts on becoming a good corner outfielder.
I figure Trout will be the starting CF from 2012-2023, a good 11 year run. He'll probably be the starting LF from 2023 to 2027. And the starting DH from 2028-2030. 

Im kind of in this camp, because Im such a simmons fan. Him being gone, and how it went down are a bust.
That said, I felt the exact same way when simmons replaced aybar. So I wont care once baseball starts again.

The thing about CF is, neither Adell or Marsh are vastly superior CF than Trout. Trout is visually better than Adell. Marsh is about as good as Trout, but certainly not better, at least not yet.
The only prospect who is visually, undeniably better than Trout in CF is Jordyn Adams, and even then, Adams lacks refinement.
Trout should stay in CF until...
1. He can't. 
2. Adams isn't traded and develops.
At any rate, I think you're still looking at 2-5 more years of Mike Trout in CF. And that's a good thing. He isn't the best defensive CF, but he is top 10. 
 
 
 
 

OK, you make a good argument. With Pujols coming off the books, the idea of going after a Lindor or Correa seems more possible. And it isn't like there is a SS prospect on deck; I'm not confident that Jackson will stick at SS, and even if he does, is likely 2-3 years away. Vera and Paris are intriguing, but are 3-5 years away.
It is December 3, and the infield is basically set, so that allows him to focus on more pressing needs. Given what we know about Minasian, he might go hard after James McCann, and it seems like he's going to completely rebuild the bullpen. And of course there's a starting pitcher or two.
 

This is a key thing.  The best teams in baseball often have layers upon layers of depth - they don't put all their eggs in one basket.
Could Fletcher at SS and Rengifo at 2B possibly contributed the same thing?  Maybe, but it doesn't seem that likely.  And what if one of them got hurt?  Then we'd be rather screwed.
At least now, with Iglesias at SS and Fletcher at 2B, we have a really solid defensive pairing.  If Iglesias gets hurt, Fletcher can slide over to SS, so we have a good contingency plan in place for SS if anything happens to our primary SS.  And this will give Rengifo time to improve his game and develop further, as opposed to be thrusting into a key role.
Iglesias isn't exciting, but what he does do is improve our floor and help us improve defensively at two positions.  For a team like ours, that has often fielded a stars and scrubs approach, we are going to have to continue to try to improve our floor at weak positions (2B, corner OF, SP).  Minasian is going to work on that, and he's off to a pretty decent start.

I don't think so.  Arte already said the budget will go up.
I think we are just seeing a new GM remake the team in his image.

Wouldn't acquiring Wong or Hernandez likely move Fletcher to shortstop as well? Maybe Minasian values our infield defense a lot more with Fletcher at 2nd and Iglesias at short. I also believe that Fletcher's glove is considerably better at 2nd while pairing him with Iglesias gives us one of the best defensive  MIF's in baseball.
