Definitely not doubting that Jose is a good dude. I've never heard anything otherwise. I'd love to have a beer with him and chat baseball. But the fact remains that he's just a crap announcer. It comes off as harsh saying it as one does on a message board. I consider myself a decent enough dude too, but that doesn't make me a good choice to perform a job function that I'm just not good at. And that's the way I view Mota. He's a nice guy with solid enough baseball knowledge, but he's just flat out bad at speaking on a broadcast.

My mother is the nicest person I've ever met--but I wouldn't want her to be the PBP announcer for the Angels, either.

It feels like there are hundreds of guys out there that would be young, cheap, and plenty qualified/knowledgeable to call a game. Why we continue to trot Mota out there, who still can’t form a coherent sentence after 20 years in the media, is beyond me. I can’t imagine there’s ever been a person who listened to him call a game in English (I can’t speak for his Spanish language broadcasts... maybe he’s great there) that walked away from that experience thinking “that guy’s pretty good”. 

Looks like Mota is moving into the both with Gubi for the next four games in Spring Training. Getting ramped up for what will assuredly be a prolifically terrible combination. I may have to listen on mute this year. Can't stand Mota.

Well, this sucks. I wonder if he signed the letter "A Simple Man" as sort of a joke because that was the song that he was referring to when he mistakenly dropped the F-Bomb on the air? Pretty funny, if that's the case. In any event, I'm sorry to see him go. Hope they find a suitable replacement. Nothing worse than trying to watch 162 games, plus a long playoff run, when you can't stand the PBP guy.

The scene where it's about to go down with Danson on the porch was great. Best episode so far. Every one seems to be better than the last.

The part with the thumb was hilarious. I think they picked two perfect actors to play Lou. He's a great character. Kind of sad that we already know the outcome of his wife's cancer battle.

Yeah, that is a terrific line. The show is so well written, casted, and directed.
