My friends have taken outdoorsman classes before. They were operated in like Artesia/Pasadena foothills area. The way they described it to me it sounded awesome. One class was how to create shelter with bare minimum items that you would always have on you, another was how to eat off of the local San Gabriel land, etc. If you're interested in something like that I'll try to find the information for you.

That makes sense. Every person that we've spoken with at the insurance companies have taken it upon themselves to ask what the issue was, call the other party involved and call us back with what they hear. It's been a great experience.

When my son was born last year, let's just say he had some health issues. Thank whoever the hell watches over us that we had insurance because the total bill was $685,000. Haha I dare anyone try to beat that! Though the insurance companies are still battling out who pays who and who owes who during the whole process. My wife is frickin' fed up dealing with and of course being on hold with the hospital, both insurance companies, their medical partners, etc. etc. etc. To my surprise my insurance company (Blue Shield) has been outstanding during the past year with all of this. I will give credit where credit is due.

Yea that's the problem with most mountain communities, there's no work.

Did you buy up there? Was it hard finding a job to support yourself and/or family you had? My wife and I always love the mountains (especially southern/central Sierras) but I have a great job now and would be afraid to lose it just to relocate.
