Taking his word for it on "fatigue" and not having some kind of test (MRI) on him and then letting him pitch is a pretty bad look for the coaching and medical staff.

OK, if that's true than you send him to Single-A and let him rot down there.

He's only in it for the money. Plain and simple.
He already has his World Series win and cashed in at the exact right time for him. After that series win it was like the end of a competitive career building chapter for him. All creating an ideal free agency scenario. And it seemed that when he signed the contract with Arte his main comments were more about family environment and comfort than baseball.
After getting the dream contract the results speak for themselves. Forget the injury prone history for a moment.
You'd expect leadership, enthusiasm, gratitude to the organization and a ball busting work ethic. As well as being more fan friendly and media co-operative.
Instead he has been reluctant to take a leadership role on and off the field. He may have an introvert personality, but his comments and actions seem to show that he's just not willing or able to embrace the role he's being paid for.
It's like he's serving a term reluctantly, counting the days till it ends.
The proneness to injuries is bad luck. But lf good luck is the residue of hard work as the saying goes.  What about bad luck?
Working in a business with real risks to health is a big part of the equation. But I also think that mindset is also a factor. Subconsciously if you aren't happy and focussed on the task at hand you lose an edge with your reflexes and concentration. I'm not saying that has been a direct cause, but it may have factored in to some degree. And mindset affects basic play and athletic skills too.
Attitude and motivation do have a bigger role in the recuperative process. I wouldn't accuse him of faking or hiding behind excuses. He may have a low tolerance for pain, but it's also is an unwritten expectation for professional athletes to play at less than 100% comfort level. Most actually do over the course of a season.
But if getting back onto the field isn't a high priority then obviously he won't play with minor pain or discomfort. Which should be a moral obligation given his contract  if the injuries aren't likely to get worse or be debilitating. If they medically have longer term risks then he should just be shut down for the season and be re-evaluated in the future.
Maybe finesse a medically based  settlement and retirement rather than endure four more years of this. Age will probably aggravate chronic weaknesses and thus more of the same.
At this stage it is what it is. Not good for anyone

At some point, when will we acknowledge....
Dipoto - Bloated payroll, empty farm system, failed to build a winner.
Eppler - Bloated payroll, empty farm system, failed to build a winner.
Minasian - Bloated payroll, empty farm system, failed to build a winner.
The hard truth is, the Angels have tell avenues for contention...
    1. Outspend everyone in free agency.
    2. Enter the difficult period of a rebuild where they sell off anything of value in return for prospects, lower payroll to be reallocated much later on to extend homegrown players, shop the bargain bin in FA to fill out rosters until the trade deadline when you can flip them for more prospects, draft at the top of the first round because of your piss poor record, spend big on teenage lotto tickets in international free agency and return to contention in 2028 with a sustainable model of success, which is a combination of a strong farm, and the ability to spend big.

This is the last year of the window, so push your chips in and see what happens.
They were going to suck next year anyway, either with Ohtani and nothing else or without Ohtani.
Hopefully Moreno goes back to selling the team and Minasian has the ability to do a bit of a rebuild.

Every day I am more and more happy that they wasted the most valuable trade chip in team history, and dealt the best catching prospect they have had in many years to try and boost a truly mediocre team that had at best a 10% chance of making the post season.

With 41 games remaining, they'll need to go 32-9 to reach 91 Wins.  Realistically, it's going to take at least that many to even have a shot at the 3rd Wild Card spot.
That's a .781 winning percentage.  Meaning they'll have to win almost 4 out of every 5 games.
It all starts at the top, and Arte Moreno is a Horrible owner, among other things.  He's made the Angels an embarrassment around the League, and it's going to take years if not decades to wipe the stink off them, after they lose one of this generation's greatest players, in the prime of his career, and get NOTHING in return.

They were done with their gutless showing at home against the Mariners. This team has almost no ability to rise to the occasion.

maybe some day, but right now he's pretty fucking far from a #3. this season's performance doesn't even deserve a spot in a good team's rotation.

He'll eventually be traded and win 15 games for his new team with a low-3 ERA.
Can we get some coaches who actually know how to help pitchers?!

If you could get a guy to throw only 90-92 mph and save that 96+ for maybe every 5-6 pitch, it would keep hitters off-balance more. I also think more pitcher need to learn better pitch combinations. By this, I mean, pitches that look simpilar but have slightly different movement. 4-seem to 2-seem, 4-seem to slider, slider to cutter etc... Mastering changing speed with every pitch gives you countless combinations, that if you can control well, make it near impossible to hit.

VELO is similar to Running Speed.. You can't teach it!
You can attempt to manufacture it.
But, you still can't Over throw it, over spin, over grip, fly open, rush through your mechanics.
However, then body structure and structure of the shoulder, elbow joints come into play and the tendons. Which we see in TJ surgeries.
    it's all relevant.
Thats why we went from guys like me in the 80's 5-10 89-91 nothing was straight.
    To 90's 6-4+ guys 95-98.
To everyone today has to over do the push and finish and snap and at the same time need to get on Top of the ball.
To Today's open slot insert and manufacture it. Turn them out burn them out and keep sending them in.
Similar to Joyce he throws gas. He was rushing through his break and push in that 9-6 ASTRO game and was bouncing which led to his front side leaking and then leading with his elbow and pushing which caused the elbow issue. Then he tried to pitch through it against the Cubs 4 days later samething bouncing through it. Then he faced what 1 hitter vs Seattle and has been done since.

The way i see it, it’s both. The biggest internal issue is that he couldn’t make the adjustments when the pitchers figured him out.

How about the play at the plate where Neto crashes into the catcher’s helmet?  Had that been rendon, he’d be in a full body cast today, at the very least a neck brace and out for sure. Brittle sob

I agree. I may be wrong on this but I think that too many in this organization, as well as baseball as a whole, focus primarily on velocity and not control.

Yeah, he throws it like 10-15% of the time. His name escapes me. He's a pitcher that has a knuckleball in his repertoire not a straight knuckleball pitcher.
