I heard Eppler on MLB network yesterday and it sounds like rebuilding the farm is concern #1 and he doesn't like long term deals. Whether this is posturing or not is anyone's guess but I would say we are out on any long term deals or anyone who costs a draft pick.
That being said, greinke and Robbie Ray makes the most sense to me. It would cost a ton over the next 3 years but would solidify the rotation and wouldn't gut the farm. Coming from AZ, both could be better next year and allow the halos to move controllable pitching(Tropeano, Barria) for offensive help. Hell, maybe they could get Haniger for Skaggs since Jerry couldn't resist trading for Skaggs again.
