I've been a fan of both my entire life. Always have been, always will be.
That said, the rivalry is real and both sides can feel very strongly. -
If the season started today, Ohtani, Trout, and Rendon would all be healthy so I said playoff contender.
Let's see how long that lasts.

To me, the definition of "breakout player" would include something about unexpected. If a young player had a good 2021 it's not unexpected for them to have a better 2022.
I'll go with Rengifo and Detmers. -

So far so good. In the past when he has come up he wasted no time being awful. He looks improved at the plate and on defense.
Conversely, it seems like he wasted a lot of time being awful, haha

But let's say for discussion sake, it was the flu. Was it irresponsible?
The flu is just the flu, nothing to see here.
It's not like Magic playing with AIDS. -

Maybe the Dodgers will turn him into another Heaney?

"Confident" is the qualifier here.
If they stay healthy, they have a good chance of making the playoffs under the current format.
I'm not confident they stay healthy, so I went with >2/3. -

So again…your statement makes literally no sense….if science is a process, then clearly you would believe in the scientific process and the way it operates. It is not concrete nor definitive and constantly evolving. So to say scientists don’t believe in science is downright asinine and contradictory to what you are saying.
P.s. if you make beer in your garage you can consider yourself a chemist.
Good for you.

I'm a chemist. Questioning science is how science works.

I believe they said he has good baseball IQ and a good attitude as well...
Indeed!
These traits can take a marginal prospect and turn them into a decent Major Leaguer.
Thank you for answering my question without snark. -

#15 Nelson Rada
Venezuela, OF
Born: Aug. 24, 2005. B-T: L-L. Ht.: 6-0. Wt.: 168.
If Rada had been born eight days later, he would be in next year's class instead, so he's one of the youngest players who will sign this year. Rada stood out playing for Venezuela at the U-15 World Cup Americas Qualifier in September 2019 in Mexico. He was 5-foot-9 early on, but he's the son of a former professional basketball player in Venezuela and has grown a few inches leading up to his signing date. He's an instinctive player, especially in center field where he gets good reads off the bat with a quick first step and at least solid-average speed. Rada has a fairly short stroke from the left side with a good eye for the strike zone and mostly gap power that has trended up as he's gotten stronger.#29 Randy de Jesus
Dominican Republic, OF
Born: Feb. 13, 2005. B-T: R-R. Ht.: 6-3. Wt.: 180.
De Jesus stood out early on for his physicality as a tall right-handed hitter. Since then he has improved his conditioning, getting himself into better shape while maintaining his ability to drive the ball with impact when he connects. He's a corner outfielder with a chance for above-average raw power, with scouts highest on him also believing in his ability to hit against live pitching.
Hmmm. Rada's average speed suggests he will not stick in Center, so he is essentially a slap-hitting corner outfielder, while de Jesus is an out-of-shape 18-year-old who some scouts think may be able to hit live pitching.
Am I reading you right?

That's a trip that Tampa Bay had the least amount of drafted players. I would have thought theirs would be high considering their continual budget situation.
Their continual budget situation is why they don't have a lot of drafted players. When their drafted players turn out good, they can't afford to keep them so they are traded for good young talent.

This is the first argument I've read that makes me think Maddon may be a bad manager.
Regardless of who is behind this, Maddon is the manager, and he should have put a stop to this nonsense a long time ago. -

Sorry, buddy, but the development of the cotton gin contributed to the growth of king cotton, which led to the south digging in its heels more and more about keeping slavery.
as for the war of 1812, meh. No one cares.
Hey, the only battle we won was after the war was over and was with the help of pirates, and yet we won the war.
I think that's pretty cool. -

This isn't based on career, it's on talent and production alone given what they've done for their respective teams in a given season based on WAR.
'27 and '28 Ruth and Gehrig combined for about 45 WAR. Two seasons.
I'll take it.
