He can always bounce back next year and post an OPS in about the .767-.790 range.

0-17 slump is an aberration. If Trout gets a day off in a decent size slump, then Pujols should get what? A whole year off?

0-3 with a strikeout so far tonight against Oakland. Let's just call this a nightmare year and that he won't hit again.........at least for this season.

Three years ago, today, the Angels won the first game of a 4 game series against the Athletics in a series that featured two teams that were battling it out for the division. And today's game against the Athletics is the first of three. Same teams going at it at the same ballpark, the Big A. So a sweep would be great but that is asking too much from this team. At least win 2 out of 3.

Higher OPS doesn't mean that a guy is better than the other guy with a lower OPS. Trout's getting on base way more than Valbuena so his OPS is more valuable. 

Found a Trout stat that I personally find to be amazing.  Last year he only hit into 5 DPs with 103 opportunities.
 
For a reference, Pujols hits into 17-18% for his career.
 
Also made me think about Pujols owning one of those "never to be broken records."  If he continues to play 4 more years at his current pace, he will own the record for most DPs in a career by nearly a 100.  Never to be broken....

Sorry ass Pujols just struck out right there.    But he has a lot of RBIs this year so he must be having a good year.

That is how bad the offense has been outside of Trout and Andrelton. And both guys have been struggling at the plate lately. Not saying a lot.

Before this game, yes. Now he is hitless for a third consecutive game. He is walking a lot still but walks are kind of boring. I want to see pitchers not being little girls out there and give Trout good pitches to hit.

Disrespectful. So he had one bad series in the postseason. Big deal, a lot of great players who are in the Hall of Fame had bad career postseasason numbers as well. Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, Roger Hornsby, Rod Carew, the list goes on and on. And like almost every players who have great overall postseason numbers have had bad series/postseason before. Do they all lack the killer instinct then? Please, judging someone on one bad series/postseason is dumb.And false, he doesn't tail off every August and September. You're just one of those dudes who only remember Trout's bad August and September. But Trout has had great Augusts and Septembers before.
