  1. He's way ahead of everyone else in MLB history when it comes to grounding into double plays. He's at 410 career double plays grounded into in the regular season, which is 60 more than Ripken Jr., who is in second place in that category. I think he's going to hold the record for double plays hit into forever. A lot of things has to go right for him to no longer hold the record one day. Like hitting in a double play still isn't that easy, fielders must field the ball cleanly, especially.
  2. At this point, I can't blame anyone who thinks that Trout could be done for the season . I mean, WTF!!!??? Stupid injury didn't even looked that serious a first. But this is the Angels that we're talking about. Just a poorly run organization. This organization just has bad, weird things happening to them. The weirdest might be Morales getting injured after stepping onto home plate after hitting a walk-off in 2010.
  3. If I had told you a few seasons ago that in 2021, Ward would put up an OPS of .748, you would feel good. Ward was really bad at the dish in 2018 and 2019. He was a contributor during Trout being out of the lineup. He also has a lower strikeout rate than GOAT (Trout) this regular season.
  4. Ward is okay. He didn't light the world on fire when Trout and Upton were both on the IL. But he did contribute to a degree, something that the Angels gladly took. If he's your best OF, you're in trouble.
  5. Pujols went hitless in three ABs tonight, including grounding into a double play, LMAO! Back to playing like trash. F Pujols!
  6. Maddon does a really good job at helping his players succeed. Like I already stated, he put Rizzo and Upton in the leadoff spot and both guys started thriving again once he put them there. Not to mention the shifts that he helped changed baseball when he was with the Rays. Those Rays pitchers benefited way more from the shifts than not. Managers started following his lead and now, shifts are common in the game. He might not be the best at managing a bullpen but with this bullpen, there's not really any good options for him to go to. Put any managers in his place and they would still look bad with this bullpen.
  7. Oh, yes he did. He had like six starters before getting hurt that season. And not once did Scioscia let him hit in the same game that he pitched.
  8. It's not like the Angels nor the league didn't knew about Ohtani's talents as a two-way player. If there is one thing that Maddon is pretty good at, he puts his players in position to succeed. You can ask Rizzo and Upton how they were rejuvenated once Maddon put them at leadoff.
  9. What's wrong? Think Scioscia would have done any better in Maddon's place? Hell, he would have done worse if he was still managing the team. Didn't have the guts to let Ohtani hit and pitch in the same game in 2018.
  10. With all these injuries piling up for him, Trout might not get to the following milestones: 3,000 hits and 600 home runs. He's not even halfway to 3,000 hits yet, currently at 1,419. The 3,000 hit milestone was always going to be tough for Trout because pitchers are scared to give him good pitches to hit. He's been drawing a lot of walks for a long time. Averages about 109 free passes per-162 games. 600 home runs? Still going to be tough as he gets older and he'll lose bat speed and eyesight won't be as good as to when he was young. But he might become only the second player in MLB history to win at least 4 MVPs. He's currently tied with a few other players with 3 MVPs. Bonds has 7 MVPs, going to be hard to catch. I would rather have Trout win his 4th MVP than get to 600 home runs. Another trophy to add to his already loaded trophy case.
  11. Trout has been out for like 10 weeks now. He was supposed to be out, at most, eight weeks. Of course, it's the Angels, who is owned by Moreno, a moron. This franchise is poorly run. Lousy medical staff, lousy player development, etc. Angel fans should just petition to get Moreno out and let someone else who cares about a winning culture be in charge.
  12. Maddon's not doing that bad of a job this season. You can put any manager in his place and it wouldn't change a thing. Bullpen is horrible thanks to the GM. Same with the starting rotation. Scioscia wouldn't save the Angels either. Same guy who had the luxury of having a dynamic rookie in Trout, a very good, albeit disappointing Pujols, Hunter, and a solid, not outstanding Morales. They also had a strong defensive team that season, unlike this season's team. And not to mention having a stud starting pitcher in Weaver, Greinke for half the season, and a very good closer in 2012 in Frieri. That 2012 squad makes the 2021 roster looks like a JV squad. And the so-called best thing that has happened in franchise history still couldn't get the 2012 team to the postseason.
  13. Still can't believe that he would support someone who labeled people from his own country the "r" word, which ends with the letter "s". And he thinks the Angels play in the city of Los Angeles. Dumb dumb!
  14. That's fine if you don't like my takes. I won't consider you a bad person because of that.
  15. Sano might reach 2,000 career strikeouts despite playing like only 12 seasons in the league. Dude is worse than trash.
  16. Moreno is a supporter of the 45th president of the United States. Not really a shock by these reports.
  17. Another so-called contender to overtake Trout as MLB's king bites the dust. Same with Harper (2015) and Betts (2018). Yelich wasn't quite on Trout's level as a superstar from 2018-2019 but he was still close, hasn't been great since 2020. Baseball, as its been said many times, will humble a player.
  18. On top of my head, I know Santana had two really good seasons (2008 and 2011) with the Angels. He also had some bad ones, including 2012. Of course, he pitched well in 2013 after the Angels traded him before the season. Had a couple of good seasons in Minnesota. Way more success than Heaney.
  19. From what I've seen people say, the guy in Houston might do wonders for Heaney. Cole, Morton, and Verlander. Cole, two good seasons with the Pirates, last two seasons with them, not so good. Goes to Houston and turns back the clock and dominate hitters. Morton, good in 2013, was decent at best from 2014-2016, then in 2017 and especially in 2018, dominated hitters. Verlander, not as bad as Cole or Morton before landing in Houston but wasn't that good with the Tigers in 2017, then all of a sudden, pitches like he did in 2011 for the rest of 2017 and continued that dominance in 2018 and 2019. So when is Harvey going to go to Houston and test the Astros' pitching coach's magic? It would be funny to see Harvey dominate hitters again in Houston.
  20. Santana had way more success than Heaney at the Major League level. Santana could give up 25-30 home runs in a season and still put up a good season (about a 3.30-3.50 ERA). He wasn't scared of giving up home runs. He was going to attack hitters no matter how many bombs he gave up. Heaney doesn't have that same attitude when it comes to attacking hitters. He sucks.
  21. Knowing the Angels and their "luck", he'll turn into a superstar if they trade him. I mean, Trout wasn't so good in 2011 when he was in the big leagues.
  22. Ward is okay. Not good, not bad. He did do a nice job of just contributing for the Angels and should be back in the Majors with the Angels, if they don't trade him, at some point.
