  1. Every day is a slow day for Blum. No one on the Angels will give him a legitimate answer to anything at this point.
  2. That makes sense. Sam made his bed. Though I think he's put other writers in an awkward spot.
  3. No worries. This is just one of the 60. It's still early. Yeah, right. Let's see. Loup and Tepera (DL) can't be trusted in the late innings. Quijada and Estevez can't be either. Herget's gone. Wantz doesn't look like the answer. Nor does Barria. Tucker is our new 6th Starter. Suarez can't figure out how to not tip his pitches. Moore needs to be the lefty bridge to get to the Closer. Yup. Step up on up Adam Warren! Congratulations Adam! You're our new Closer!
  4. Logically you make sense. However, a 2 run lead with with 3 outs to go should be close to an automatic. Yes, you can have a bad day and get blown out even by the worst team in the game. But Championship teams with a 2 run lead, don't give up 5 runs in the top of the 9th. Not sure of a team that won a World Series using a Closer by Committee. I think Perry needs to go find a Closer. I don't believe there is one in the Angels Organization this year.
  5. With Kluber gone, looks like Perry will go to trade market.
  6. It was the changeup. Or the new changeup that he started throwing. He threw both the old and the new. He throws the old one for a strike, the new one as a chase pitch.
  7. There is no eligible Angel player on the list that another MLB club would commit to having on their 26 Man, for a full season. No need to protect any of them.
  8. 10 years? I'm just looking at the last two years. Where has this team gotten better? How can you get better signing 1 year deals?
  9. At this point I would say changes first need to be made on the Coaching Staff. Not just Nevin. Clear the deck. There needs to be a philosophical change in the culture of the Coaching Staff. As much as Matt Wise has done wonders for some of our youngsters, what veteran Free Agent, front of the rotation pitcher, is thinking Wise is the Coach that will help move his career forward? You think a Verlander or a Gerrit Cole is thinking Wise is the guy that's going to help him be successful? Has Jeremy Reed improved any Angel hitter? All I see from our hitters seems to be being choosy looking for a pitch to drive, as strike 3 pops into the Catchers mitt. Heck, even the kids from Hawaii proved you can still hit a ball over the fence without the pitch actually being a strike, lol. I am being facetious. But I bet Brandon Marsh is far happier he's now working with Kevin Long ,as opposed to looking lost and confused in the Angels lineup. Angels need to prove to whoever the new owners are, that they actually have a plan in place that will take their new investment in a forward direction. It's starts with the Coaches. Perry needs to make these changes as well as hire personnel to dive in and provide a guidance for improving the Farm System. This needs to be done now. If Arte thinks Perry can't get this done, then Arte needs to find a GM who can. The infrastructure has to change. Adding players is just a small part of the equation.
  10. Agree with Salmon. Rojas broke too quickly on the rundown forcing Stassi to throw to soon. Bottom line is Rojas shouldn't be at 3B.
  11. It's ok Dugger. A 1-2 Pitch down the middle would have frozen me to. SMH.
  12. In what has been a dismal Angels Season, I am pleased that this situation has allowed us to have extended looks at some of our Young Lefties. Really like the future pitching staff with Sandoval, Detmers, Suarez, and now Quijada as well as Davidson showing some great potential. It seems it was just a few years back where we had no lefties on the roster. Anyway, we've got the makings of a Great, Young, Pitching Staff with these Lefties. I think Wise has done a great job in developing these arms, and am excited of where he can take this. Now, let's see if we can get the same type of production out of our Hitting Coaches.
  13. Adell needs to steal second, third, and home. Then we'll only lose by 1.
  14. Pass on Price. Think we have enough to get us to the Trade Deadline. That will tell us what direction we need to go. If we are Buyers, values should be lower then they are now for guys like Castillo, Mahle, MadBum. I don't think we need to give up Adell right now. We should be able to get one of those pitchers by trading potential high ceiling prospects, at the Deadline.
