No. He had 4-5 bad moments out there in a couple weeks.

And yea he could be worse than a Upton defensively and strike out more than him, which is a lot.

I don’t actually buy when Maddon says he doesn’t know. I believe he can’t say.

Teheran said Wednesday that he was hoping to get the test results back Wednesday or Thursday and be in Anaheim this weekend. Obviously that didn’t happen, but I have no idea if the test was positive or the results didn’t come back or he’s got to quarantine for some other reason. Maybe his test was negative but someone in his family tested positive and now he’s got to wait for another.

We still really don’t know a lot about how this works until guys start showing up and telling us what happened in their owns words.

    Yo, dummies!

"Teheran spoke with Enrique Rojas at ESPN Desportes, and said he’s still in Atlanta, after he and his family experienced coronavirus symptoms. Teheran is currently awaiting test results.
“I was not feeling well, I had pain in my body, in my back, and we preferred not to take the risk. We are waiting for the results today or tomorrow and, if negative, I’ll travel to Los Angeles this weekend,” Teheran told Rojas, in Spanish."

Except he is absolutely one of our best 5 starters.  If I had to guess he was waiting for test results, then got the test results and he now has to be quarantined.  I highly doubt Eppler and the front office are anything but hopeful he is pitching for the Angels soon.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to ettin in How does no minor league season effect development
I truly think MLB is taking a shotgun and pointing it right at their own heads with these recent pushes to reduce the Minor Leagues in general and then questionable decisions like this where they will let Major League Baseball play but not the Minor Leagues.
"Hey we are having trouble attracting young players to the game of baseball, so let's reduce the number of Minor League outlets to not only accommodate those shrinking numbers but to also decrease our visibility and footprint around the country! Hooray!"
"Hey let's take our most valuable MLB assets and put them on the field while we let the undiscovered and underdeveloped future of our game wither away on the vine down on the farm! Hooray, we are saving money! Us owners are SO SMART!"
These takes by MLB also make me wonder why the League is thinking about expansion too? I mean if teams are shifting to younger players (as evidenced by a lot of recent extensions to young players) and letting older players walk off into retirement in their mid-30's, rather than keeping them and their built-in reputations, leadership, and, albeit declining, skills in the game, aren't they burning the candle from both ends by hacking off large swaths of the Minor Leagues and the players that play in them? Won't this decrease the available players both young and old, thus making it harder to fill Major League rosters? Won't two more expansion teams require a large number of players to fill their 40-man rosters and Minor League systems?
These moves by MLB will potentially damage the game moving forward in my opinion. I am not sure they are fully thinking this through for the long-run. As much as Claude hates him, Pujols and players like him (Yadier Molina, Matt Carpenter, et. al.) are good for the game and fans in a reasonable dose.

ScruffytheJanitor got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Which starting pitchers do you want us to target when trades resume?
If the Mets stumble, I'd love to see us get Stroman. His style + Simmons/Rendon/Fletcher would make for excellent results -- plus, we could get a head start on resigning him to a deal. However, we'd probably have to wait until next off season to get him.

First of, having Maddon over Ausmus is big. that already add a few extra wins.
Ohtani in your rotation is big. He's a true number 1!
Our BP was key last year early on, and win we needs. If Buttery can bounce back to 1st half 2019 form, along with the rest of the guys we'll be in a good spot.
I fully Expect Heaney to bounce back and be a 3.
trout will probably miss a few games, and i expect the other guys to step up.
Canning, Bundy and Teheran are going to be the dark horse for us.
Canning has the 2nd best stuff after ohtani. He's a 2/3.
Bundy, reports in spring training was that he was hitting 95, which is huge for a guy that lost velo.
Teheran, feels to me like he'll either be good or a bust, nothing in between.

10 each vs AL, West, 6 vs LAD, then the remaining 14 vs the rest of the NL West is what's being talked about...  Not sure why they don't just go 4 each but whatever...

I do find it odd that Arte is creating a project that won’t be completed before he passes a way.  This is the reason I won’t buy a tortoise.  I don’t want to give the tortoise a competitive edge in the fact that it knows it will out live me.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to Don in Albert Pujols is overpaid, but he’s also an awesome human being
Fun story. Albert actually slapped my ass on a plane once. Not in a bad way. It was all good. Was boarding a flight from Phoenix back to KC in 2016 after catching a couple ST games. I was wearing an Angels hat, and the gate agent told me that Pujols was on the flight. As I walked through first class back to coach I spotted him, and pointed up to my hat. He saw it and gave a “what’s up” head nod. I didn’t want to make a big deal of it, so as I walked past I just leaned in a bit and said “Hey man, just wishing you all the best this season.” He responded with a “Thanks man” and slapped my ass as I continued on to my seat. I thought it was freaking hilarious.

I wanted Crochet, but mostly because I was assuming Detmers was gone by 10.
This was the pick they had to make. If you could come up with a reasonable wish list for what the Angels would get at #10, it would probably look a lot like Detmers:
A college pitcher that can rise quickly (over under on his first start is 18 months) Has a clean delivery and a clean injury history (important because Angels) Has  + command, + control, and a fiery attitude (missing this since Weaver) Has three good pitches, with some  development left (Cutter might be a legit 4th pitch, or he could add a couple of ticks to his FB, or both).  I'd be shocked if he was lower than 4th on their board.
