I fully agree that fans don’t need any of this and they do need an escape.  I guess I am just in the camp that thinks the complications in these talks (maybe even resulting in some lost games) is necessary in the real world to get through this as fast as possible to get back to normal where fans can “escape” into their hobby outside of their normal life.

Yes other than waiting to see a certain prospect get an at bat or something like that.
Some of the joy of Spring Training games is just missing the real games Nov-Feb.
Then after four innings you realize you are not really getting that real game experience.

Honestly I can’t see there being a huge reduction in games played.  Maybe I am wrong.  No way to know until it happens.
I guess I am asking if there are any fans that actually feel like it is some kind of disaster if some games don’t happen.
You asked are we talking 10 or 50?  Great question.
To me, losing 10 games in a process to resolve this is nothing.  Don’t care.  A 150 game season is functionally a legit “full” season in my book.
Losing 50 games would suck.  But if that’s what it takes to resolve it then so be it.
This is between the owners and the players.  Let them do what they gotta do.

Dwight Golden was on a path to be an all time great and then got derailed.

I view the values in there like I view property values on Zillow.  Generally speaking some valid information, but I often find individual properties that are just way off.

I don’t know how much a double double is either.  I just know when I pull my family through InNOut, whatever total they tell me after everyone has ordered always creates a moment of “that seems so fair for what we just ordered.”
We were on a family road trip (my family of four and my sons girlfriend—5 total people) in December and pulled through a Carl’s Jr. in Burbank.  Everybody ordered and it was $80.  No kidding.  $16 per person.

But if we want to be honest, Jim Abbott in 1996 was far worse. 2-18, 7.48 ERA and 1.75 WHIP.

I agree. I love me a quarter pounder, but not because it actually tastes like a good burger it tastes like a quarter pounder.
