    I don't know how much time he had on his contract but I read it was more about clubhouse problems and not the .500 record. Scioscia has 2 months left,so if you are making a change might as well wait for the off season.St Louis is still at .500 so that change made a big difference.

    It's not that bold to DFA a guy with 2 months left on his contract, plus Holland cost them a 1st rd pick.If they were really bold they would DFA Dexter Fowler and his .587 OPS, but they won't because he's in year 2 of a 5 year $82.5 million contract.You say they are different than the Angels but maybe not so much.

    170 is horrible, I looked up past seasons just to see what kind of history he had. 2014 .228 2015 .277 2016 .272 2017 .336 It tells me he can and probably will improve on that .170, so there is hope.

    It is when you're talking about the Angel prospects, I get why the Cubs did it with Kris Bryant.None of these guys are Kris Bryant, so get them up here and see what they are. I may be blind to it but I see no value to other teams in Valbueno and Marte,they are just not even quality bench players.

    I don't know if Valbuena and Marte are still here because of Scioscia but I do know if they were gone he couldn't play them. Those two offer nothing offensively or defensively, should be gone

    And after all that I think we can agree I think that after all that we can agree that was a shitty loss. I will say this about Upton when he's bad he is really bad,and tough to watch.

    It still is more than Machado,Donaldson and just a few behind Arenado.That would probably put him in the top 10 or 15 HR hitters in baseball.

    You need to check those numbers, of all the guys you listed only Cruz and Encarnacion have more HR than Upton since 2013

    I agree, I think Chili is a great hitting coach.I would think being a switch-hitter gives him a better perspective on how to approach hitting.That and in the dugout he probably commands a lot respect from the players, I wish he was here.He can also break a bat over his leg rather spectacularly.
