I wouldn’t lie. It doesn’t mean the deal gets done. Both can be true. Arte could want Snell or be agreeable to sign Snell but not on the terms being asked.
Do you wanna play that game? You’ve gone off the rails all day long. “Fed a lie” it’s called being an agent. If you don’t believe it happens then perhaps you need a reality check.
So we think the Astros with RSN issues are going to go over the threshold for a few years and pay 110% tax for Snell? This while trying to work on an extension with another one of Boras clients Bregman and needing to consider re-signing Framber and extend Tucker.
You realize the structure of any deal that includes an opt out after a year or two will have the contract be completely front loaded as well, right? So if it’s a 6 year $150 million, $65-70 of that would be before the opt out.
I’m not talking about Arte’s opinion, Arte has never given an opt out so I can assume his opinion is not to give them out. I’m talking about a fan or GM being ok with an opt out after year one on a guy with draft pick compensation attached.
You know how we aren’t sure Snell is worth the money? Imagine being the Yankees and basically having to allocate more than twice as much with the 110% tax
Again I don’t know anyone in the front office, but I know someone who is close to someone very high up in the org. I have zero reason to lie about this as I’ve been here for close to 20 years and I’m not trying to be “that guy” nor do I need street cred.
