There is a lot to unpack here because my situation is maybe slightly different.
What do I miss the most, probably routine.  After routine it would be my inability to travel.  I was supposed to be in Havasu last weekend, Vegas this weekend, Boston in early May and Hawaii in early June.  None of that is likely to happen now.
My work situation isn’t any of those things.  Work is legitimately hard right now, with long hours and having to over communicate everything.  Now I fully understand and appreciate that I am very fortunate to be in the situation that I am, but at the same time, helping keep people calm and motivated is challenging.  I probably put in about 70 hours a week the last three weeks.  Once again, I am blessed to be overworked, but it doesn’t make it any easier.  Then to top it off, I lead 50 managers and assistant managers and 600 associates over 8 locations.  I can’t really not have a great attitude every day at work and sometimes having to be that guy is exhausting, even if being positive is in my nature.
As for my opinion of how it will happen next, since we are 2 weeks behind Italy, I can only assume that the next two weeks will be worse, then possibly have it level out.
What I was talking to my wife about is that work is hard and my two hobbies have been taken away, which are sports and traveling.  So when work is usually hard, I have something to look forward to, right now I really don’t.  I am also tired to the point of not being able to get the motivation to pick up a new hobby around the house.  Also we were supposed to start doing some more work to our back yard, and the thought of throwing $25k at a project right now seems like a horrible idea.  Then I start to feel guilty about not doing the project because I know it would really help out the people that are doing the work, because we know people need to work right now.  But at the end of the day, there is the big what if.  What if this gets much worse and we close for awhile?  What if this makes one of my loved ones sick and I could help them financially?  All the what ifs that arise in crisis.
I have it way better than a lot of people and I feel awful for those who have it worse, but this is a feelings thread and this is how I am feeling.  Basically even typing this makes me feel like a total bitch.

Dick B Back reacted to Jeff Fletcher in Angels option Luke Bard, Ryan Buchter, Michael Hermosillo and Jared Walsh to Triple-A
One of the reasons is that anyone who gets hurt while on the major league roster has to go on the major league IL. So if Luke Bard is throwing a bullpen to his brother-in-law on a college mound in Kansas or something, and he blows out his elbow, he would have to go on the major league IL and collect major league service time and salary the whole time.
Also, it's worth noting that whenever the season does start, I would assume they will have rosters expanded beyond 26. Just because someone doesn't look to fit on the opening day roster today, he may still be on it by actual opening day.

Yep. Williams belongs in the inner circle. He and Mantle were as good as anyone, but both lost time for different reasons: Williams to war, Mantle to boozing.

    Thanks @Angelsjunky!
Every time I look at the WAR numbers for the best of the best I have to remind myself that Ted Williams lost almost all of 5 prime years to WWII and the Korean War.

Dick B Back reacted to Angelsjunky in 27 for Number 27: 27 Amazing Trout Stats
Last year I was playing with the idea of an article series that collected 27 amazing Trout stats that I was going to publish on the blog throughout the offseason. Obviously that didn't happen, but I started it and thought I'd share them over the next month or two, as we face a delayed season of indeterminate length.
Caveat: I'll try to release at least one per day, but don't hold me to it. Some days I might release two or three, some none. But I'll try to be consistent. Feel free to comment in-between posts.
Also, let's make this a "corona-free zone." There are plenty of places to discuss the coronavirus and its implications, but let's give ourselves a break here and focus on THE GREATNESS OF TROUT.
Finally, there is no rhyme or reason. I have a list of 17 or 18 of them so far, and will have to scramble for more. There is also some overlap, especially as--I'm sure you'll guess--a lot of this is focused on WAR and related supernerd stats.
    That says, here goes....
    #1: CENTER FIELD JAWS LEADERS
JAWS (or Jaffe WAR Score system) is a nifty stat designed by Jay Jaffe that averages out a players career rWAR (Baseball Reference version) with the total of their seven best seasons, and is used primarily as a predictor of whether that player will reach the Hall of Fame. What is nice about it is that it balances career and peak numbers, thus avoiding the often deceiving cumulative-heavy nature of straight-up WAR.
Through 2019, Trout is now, just turned 28-years old, 5th all-time among center fielders, having just passed Ken Griffey Jr. Let me put that another way: Mike Trout has, through his age 27 season, the 5th best Hall of Fame resume among all center fielders in major league history. The impressive nature of that feat is when you look at who is on the list, centerfield being perhaps the most hallowed position on the baseball field, at least in terms of "Hall of Fame density."
The average of 19 Hall of Fame center fielders is 58.0 JAWS; Trout is at 69.2. Here are the above average center fielders, with their number of years played:
Willie Mays 114.9 (22  years) Ty Cobb 110.0 (24 years) Tris Speaker 98.4 (22  years) Mickey Mantle 87.4 (18 years) MIKE TROUT 69.2 (9 years) Ken Griffey Jr 68.9 (22 years) Joe DiMaggio 65.7 (13 years) Duke Snider, Carlos Beltran, Kenny Lofton, Andruw Jones, Richie Ashburn, Andre Dawson, Billy Hamilton and Jim Edmonds round out CFers with 50+ JAWs.
As you can see, there is a big gap between Trout and those above him, all of whom are all inner circle greats who at least twice as many years. If he maintains a modest (for him) 8 WAR pace, his JAWS should go up by about 4 per year, so he should be passing Mantle by the end of 2024, his age 32 season. If he averages 6 WAR over the course of his 11-year contract, he'll join Mays and Cobb in the 100+ JAWS club.
    More JAWS to come...
