  1. I think I've told you this before, but maybe not...I also oversaw the materials testing (trailers, TV spots) for Captive. That's the only one of your dad's projects I've worked on.
  2. I did a test screening for Unbreakable Boy, which they produced.
  3. Yeah, given that he's sort of a favorite toy of Washington, I suspect we may see more of him than most of us would like, now that he's on the active roster.
  4. That was one that looks like your dad would have written it, but he didn't.
  5. The White Sox are now 3-19, with a -78 run differential. They've only scored 45 runs so far. It's hard to be that bad.
  6. In all seriousness, why? What do you see in this collection of players that gives you hope? I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm trying to understand.
  7. Ranger Suarez: 4-0, 1.36 ERA Robert Suarez: 0.93 ERA and 0.931 WHIP with 7 saves Albert Suarez: 0 ER in 11 1/3 innings Jose Suarez: 7.62 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP.
  8. That's ok. We can disagree. I think if you're going to draft college pitchers with 19 of your 20 picks, you're probably hoping more than two of them would have hit the majors in some capacity by now. I just don't see much talent there. Bachman is the only guy from that draft who's listed in the top 10 AngelsWin.com prospects. The only guy from that draft who's in the top 30 Angels prospects on MLB.com's Pipeline is Ryan Costieu at #11, even though he hasn't pitched since 2022 due to TJ surgery (I'm assuming they don't consider Bachman a "prospect" any longer, even though he still qualifies as a rookie). Kerry has had a good start to this year, but his numbers in previous years haven't been very good. Murphy was the closer for one of the best college programs around, but struggled last year when he was repeating AA. Jones could maybe be a respectable middle reliever at some point.
  9. Is it just me, or did Ward take a bad route on that one? Looks like he kept running toward CF rather than going back on it.
  10. Take a look at the link I posted. Bachman is constantly injured and looks like he'll be best suited to the bullpen, if anything. Silseth has obviously shown flashes, but is inconsistent. They traded a few of the other guys and none of the ones who are still in the system are doing much of anything. They were almost all college pitchers, too, so if they're still hanging around high-A or struggling in AA three years after they were drafted, that's not a good sign.

  12. Bachman is Chris Rodriguez 2.0. And no update yet on Rendon is probably not a great sign...
  13. I know some people don't like to hear anything even mildly negative about Trout, and he's clearly not one of the main reasons the team is playing poorly--but...his StatCast numbers are showing some interesting patterns early on: Obviously early in the season, so this profile might change--but take a look at the exit velocity and hard hit %. Both are way below what we normally see from him. If you dig a little deeper into his batted ball profile here: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/mike-trout-545361?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb ...you can see that he's getting under a lot of balls, leading to soft flyball outs and pop-ups (which is one reason his BABIP is so low) . He's walking and K'ing less than he has in recent years, so he's making contact/swinging at a lot, but on whole, not doing as much as he has with those balls historically (yes, I realize this may sound strange to say about someone with 8 HR already--but it's been feast or famine). Also: he's still struggling with four-seam fastballs. Hopefully, he'll straighten out a bit on this homestand and we'll start seeing more line-drive doubles and other hits falling in.
