But you can't tell me he wouldn't help every team.  People are gonna boycott?    What about  Ozuna?  Draymond Green?   Ruben Patterson?  Adrian Peterson?  Michael Vick?   Ray Lewis?   Floyd Mayweather?

    Kobe?

What about them? They did bad things, some went through legal punishment/restitution for their misdeeds, and teams/organizations ultimately felt it was worth bringing them back. Clearly, teams don't want Bauer back for whatever reason, even if it's just that they think he's a jackass and they don't feel like dealing with him.

Some NFL teams probably could have benefited from having Kaepernick on their rosters. Were you crusading for him? Some MLB teams could probably benefit from having Brandon Belt (who as far as I know, hasn't been accused of anything). Are you crusading for him? Sometimes teams just don't wanna sign a guy. They don't owe anyone an explanation as to why.

Yeah, and that information may not me reliable.  See the very recent example from AZ

That is certainly a possibility.  It's just odd to me that some folks seem to think that every team would just randomly decide not to sign him for no particular reason.  Either they have more info than is publicly available, they just don't want the hassle that might come from signing him, or both--and in any of those three cases, it's perfectly fine if teams don't want to sign him.

how would a sports organization have more incriminating information than law enforcement were able to find through a high profile legal proceeding? Do you actually think that’s it’s likely enough to be worth consideration?

Yes, actually.  As I've said numerous times, it's entirely possible that they have information about women from several locations/jurisdictions and that no individual incident reaches a threshold for a local prosecutor to want to formally press charges.  But maybe the totality of the information they have is enough to scare off teams from signing him.  Why is that so hard to believe?

    At this point I think we've gotten a good idea of the offense;

    1. Sano, has shown he deserves the starting DH role and hitting in the middle of the line-up. ideally 5th or 6th

    2. Hicks, not so much. Out of Moniak, Adell and Hicks, Adell deserves to get most of the time with what he brings and ability to do alot more on the bases.  I think Moniak can still get his bats split between the 3 spots and DH. While Hicks is just wasting a roster spot.

Ideally they play about 5 games per week; lets Say Adell starts 3, and  Moniak starts the other 2 in RF, and than in the other 2 games Trout and Ward could DH.

    3. I'd Move Drury Up to the 3-hole, followed by Ward, Sano and Drury.

At the moment I see this team being 81-81

Not sure what you're saying on point 3 there.

I still think it's early to commit to too much on Sano.

it certainly sounds possible. no doubt there's probably a pretty fine legal line about what information they can release publicly, but it seems like they would have said something by now, or that someone else would have found information (like TMZ who always seems to be ahead of the game on a lot of this stuff).

There's no incentive for MLB to say anything else about it unless they're compelled to for some reason.  They've said he has served his suspension and any team is free to sign him.  As an institution, there's nothing else for them to say.  If teams aren't signing him, that's their right.  You cannot force an individual team to sign a player.

i think bauer has a legit legal claim based on how the league has treated former dodger pitcher, julio urias along with ozuna. urias has been arrested twice for DV, serving a 20 game suspension after his 2019 arrest and being suspended for the rest of the '23 season (there's the potential for a longer suspension if he signs with a team).

i think the strength of bauer's case is that he was was suspended so severely in comparison to other players in a similar situation, but they ended up serving a smaller suspension after being found guilty, while bauer served a much longer suspension while having the chargers dismissed (someone who's better at wording this legally may want to take a crack at the point i'm trying to make). the fact that bauer is a doosh or is unlikeable shouldn't have been a factor in his punishment, but it sure seems like it was.

Again, have you considered that whatever MLB uncovered in their investigation is much worse/occurred more frequently than what is publicly known?

Marcel Ozuna was charged with a DUI & arrested in 2021 for aggravated assault strangulation & misdemeanor battery family violence charges. He was allegedly seen by police grabbing a woman’s neck & throwing her against a wall.

He was put on probation and suspended by MLB for 20 games.

    Time served. All is good.

Yet, Trevor Bauer is still out of work, cleared of all charges.

    What gives?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think MLB has a formal DUI policy, oddly enough.  As for the domestic violence charges against Ozuna, he entered a diversion program and the charges were ultimately dropped after he completed all of the requirements.  It's not a great look for him or the Braves, but he did what was required of him and doesn't have a history of DV beyond the incident for which he was initially charged (just so anyone doesn't misconstrue what I'm saying: one incident is obviously too many).

On Bauer, I'll say again for about the 20th time: I would wager that the totality of the evidence that MLB has of his past encounters with multiple women (even if no single incident rises to the level of legal criminality) makes teams unwilling to take the risk of signing him, especially when he comes with a lot of PR challenges.

You can argue that it's not fair to Bauer that he's being kept from playing for things he might do versus Ozuna being allowed to play despite things he's actually done--but the reality is, there's a collectively bargained process for DV that Ozuna has gone through, and the Braves have assessed that whatever negative PR is associated with him is ultimately outweighed by his contributions on the field.  Obviously, no team yet feels like that same weighing process favors signing Bauer.
