On a separate note, maybe this had already been talked about, but why is Moniak not getting the start the last 2 games? Hicks is better against LHP and Moniak better against RHP. Seems like Washington didn't know how to platoon properly.

My son definitely loves baseball, but he's as sick of the Angels as I am. We are traveling a lot this year and plan to go to games at other ballparks. I'm not putting any more money into the team until Arte sells or they put a winning product on the field.

We're going to a Twins and Brewers game this summer. 

That will be great fun seeing other ballparks. Even minor league games are lot of fun. First year of Quakes I had a 20 game plan went with my 2 sons all the time. I also feel halos might surprise some people this year. This year watch young players develop I think is going to be fun.

I don't really care if people say, "Arte doesn't care." This is what I mean when I say the team is directionless. Why do we have to do a "masked" rebuild? Why not just do one? 
The most telling part to me, the way I know without a doubt Arte is exactly as I imagine him, is that Trout is constantly going to him and telling him to sign guys. Don't you think Arte would say, "Mike we're taking it easy this year. Not going to spend." The fact that Trout keeps going to him tells me that Arte isn't telling him the direction of the team. And look, I'm a loser fan on my computer. Trout is the franchise's greatest player ever. And Arte isn't telling HIM the direction of the team? And please don't tell me that he is, Mike would make these public statements and tell Heyman the quotes he did unless he too thought they would go after good players. This, to me, is what makes him baseball's worst owner: not even the franchise GOAT knows what the direction of the team is, to the point that he is now, for the first time ever, putting public pressure on the owner to sign players. And still no response from the owner and no moves made. Not a single move made since signing...Hicks? 
These are the times I wish this was the Yankees. I'd love for local media to ask Perry why he spent only on the bullpen. And I'd love a follow up with Mike about how happy he is with the offseason. We know our owner won't ever share with the fans what's going on.

@AngelsFanSince86, your response is pretty much exactly what mine would have been, so thank you for saving me some time.  Ha ha. Absolute insanity to give him an opt-out after this year. 

Yeah, but the Angels have to give up a draft pick. 2024 is NOT the year for Angels to go all in. They most likely won't contend. This is a building year. Giving up a draft pick in a year they most likely won't contend only for him to opt out for 2025 where they might actually be able to contend is a really bad move. 
I'm for signing Snell, but really hope it's for at 3 years no opt outs. It gives them an ace for a few years and gives something to build on next offseason.
Snell isn't "the piece" because the Angels need more than one "piece". They need to see what they have this year with Neto, O'Hoppe, Schanuel, Moniak, and Adell. Then they need to adjust accordingly next offseason. Adding Snell for a few years makes sense because it's building towards something. Giving an opt out after one year is essentially going all in on this year. Which makes zero sense.

Personally I'm over the rebuild. They had so many chances to rebuild or "soft rebuild" the last few years, but didn't take them.
Last season was the worst. They had a chance to significantly change the future and once again went for it when the writing was on the wall. 
At this point, just spend the money or the sell the team. If they sign Snell or Montgomery I may come to a few games this year to watch them pitch. Otherwise, it will be the first season since I was born that I didn't attend an Angels game.

And wouldn't have a job if their performance was a bad as Rendons.
And those are the same people spending their hard earned money to watch their Angels team struggle largely in part because of the guy who is taking up 20% of the payroll while producing 0% on the field.

The fans who bitch about this are really stupid people. 
Dude has literally always been this way. It didn't matter when he was one of the best 3B in the game and winning a WS. It doesn't matter that he's helping guys like O'Hoppe out with his swing (probably others, too). People suddenly care because (1) he's injured, (2) not performing well, (3) not lying about baseball being a job. Apparently people would rather he pretend to love the game. Rendon isn't the childish one, the fans upset about this are. Pathetic.

Although I don't really read/understand what Ron says anyway so no wonder I'm lost. 
I have zero interest in anything Rendon until he shows up on the field and plays like he wants to win. We've had this discussion ad nauseum in multiple threads and throughout the season in gameday chats, and I think 75% consensus on this board is "Rendon is a bust," and a majority of us would rather not have him, his shit attitude and his piss poor performance on our team.
