  1. this is a brand of humor that either goes over my head or under my feet.
  2. well, he sure took his sweet fucking time doing it. trout's an old man and ohtani is one foot out the door.
  3. i have no idea who jeimer candelario is, so i have no idea what to think about that. edit: damn, he's pretty good isn't he? i looked up his reference page. moto bat. yes, please.
  4. they should have just called florida or texas. they'll ship them by the busload to you free of charge.
  5. i'd suck friedman's dick if the angels were run half as well as the dodgers. when's the last year they didn't make the tournament? well, maybe not suck it, but i might juggle the balls a little bit.
  6. i don't know why perry didn't trade them kike hernandez. sleeping on the job, i guess.
  7. i think it's a little disingenuous to criticize nevin for not using loup in the 9th. i know he's been doing substantially better as of late, but is there anybody that has real confidence in loup? i doubt it. imagine the criticism nevin would get if he brought loup in the 9th and he blew it.
  8. all of the previous answers you got to this answer were not only wrong, they were dog shit. the correct answer to your question is this, the same thing he did for his 240 million. jack shit!
  9. most trades are never consummated, so the idea of having a framework in place for some trades in case the angels fall out is neither very difficult to imagine, nor hard to believe. i would think there are some for other players as well.
  10. i apologize for that. i get a little triggered, if you will, with twisting meanings.
  11. this is making a lot out of nothing. of course he wants to reach the playoffs with the angels. also, does anybody expect him to say anything else? demand a trade? get real. the guy just wants to win.
  12. so dumb. yeah, he's made a career out of not caring about it. calling professional athletes pussies is so lame. i think there's more evidence to question what continues to go on behind the scenes with the angels organization that they never seem to diagnose an injury properly, especially as to severity. i notice nobody that calls players pussies ever backtracks once they find out their injury was misdiagnosed by the organization.
  13. with ward returning to form as well, the outfield is starting to look decent again.
  14. the way this season has gone, urshela was certainly a more integral part for sure. the angels were winning without rendon, they were winning with urshela and have been losing without him. i expected, and said so here somewhere, that rendon would be the come back player of the year. unfortunately, that hasn't happened.
  15. the first half of this post and the highlighted part are more fiction than fact. rendon had played seven seasons in mlb when he signed with the angels. 2 of those seasons, his first and third, were abbreviated and he put up nearly identical numbers as he has put up in his injury marred seasons with the angels this year and the last two. in his healthy years he was putting up big numbers with ops+ of 126. 108. 139, and 157. finishing 5th, 6th, 11th, and 3rd for the mvp in those seasons. his first and only healthy year with the angels? 150 ops+ and he finished 10th in mvp. there was no recency bias. there was no illusions of any kind. rendon is a really good player. the problem is he's been injured 3 straight friggen years because apparently the angels can't have anything nice.
  16. i think of it like this, if i left my wife because we had a relationship that wasn't working anymore, then i got a couple different girlfriends over the years and it never worked out with them either. what would it say about my exwife if she took me back? what would it say about me if i just went back to where i was unhappy? and also maybe the problem isn't with my wife or all those exgf's. maybe it's me.
  17. i'll be brief. first off no gm is going to bat even close to 1000, so i'm not going to judge him too harshly by his misses. i'll judge him by how he drafts and how he builds the roster. he missed big on tepera and loup, no doubt, but he's hit on several other guys and he's drafted really well by all measures. he signed a lot of good players to use both as starters and depth and they've all been good. i don't know what they guy is supposed to do to build more depth than he did this past offseason. sometimes things just don't work out. i look at the angels continued years of failures and i look directly at moreno and carpino. what have they done that's worked out well? hire perry? they're the problem.
  18. i appreciate how nevin and perry have said very plainly this season and last, the direction we take hinges on how we play in "this" given amount of time. what i don't appreciate is how the players and possibly the coaches never answer the bell. ever.
  19. nothing neto can do about that. he's certainly not the problem with the angels.
