Revad got a reaction from halodground in The Official Los Angeles Angels 2023-2024 Hot Stove Offseason Thread
Sorry for a bit of a tangent, but this has been on my mind for sometime, so I’m just putting it here instead of starting a new thread because you know all these sides are the same thread.
”
Salmon and trout are closely related species both belonging to the same family of fish called Salmone. They share many similarities in terms of their appearance, behavior, and habitat preferences.
One common ancestor gave rise to various species within the Salmonidae family, including salmon, trout, and other fish like char and grayling. This common ancestry is the reason why salmon and trout share several physical characteristics, such as their streamlined bodies, adipose fins (a small, fleshy fin between the dorsal fin and tail), and the presence of scales.
As for the mention of angels, it's worth noting that salmon and trout are sometimes referred to as "angel fish" due to their beauty and grace in the water. However, this is not a biological or scientific term but rather a nickname given by some people who appreciate these fish.
In summary, salmon and trout have a close evolutionary relationship as members of the Salmonidae family, sharing common traits and characteristics. While they may be called "angel fish" by some, this is more of a descriptive term used to highlight their aesthetic appeal.”

La Russa did ok his first year back with the White Sox, but didn't make it through his second season.
Valentine went 69-93 in his one year with the Red Sox before getting the boot.
Collins only had two winning seasons out of 7 with the Mets when he returned to managing. Made it to one WS, but lost, and overall was more than 30 games under .500 in his 7 years there.
Johnson took over with the Nationals mid-way through 2011. Was just under .500 the rest of that year and then had two good years before going away again for good.
Gaston took over mid-way through 2008 and the Blue Jays finished strong. Had a down year in 2009, then rebounded in 2010 but didn't make the playoffs. Gaston hasn't managed since then.

May be a Minor League Director of Baseball Operations type thing... It's a Win/Win!
With all the negative press with Arte and the Minor Leaguers in the past 2 years. I would want to revamp the whole thing if I'm staying for a while... To build it up to then sell it.
And to Perry's point just because he has 1yr left doesn't mean he isn't staying.

I can't imagine that Showalter would accept an assistant GM position, especially in a situation as unstable as this one. The GM and the owner may not be in the picture within a year or two.

I would love for it to be Hunter. Experience doesn’t matter as long as Arte is around anyway. I think Hunter would have lit up Rendon for how he acted

I like the catcher cam POV. It really does give you the look at how much each pitch moves from mound, mid way and then drops to the glove. Some of those pitches look like they just fall out of the sky 20 feet from the plate.
