  1. Angels get: LHP Cliff Lee Salary: 2014: 25 M 2015: 25 M 2016: 27.5 M (12.5 M buyout) Phillies get: Josh Hamilton 2014: 15 M 2015: 23 M 2016: 30 M 2017: 30 M And Garret Richards Angels would get their top of the line starter and Phillies would get an outfield powerboat for right field and a cheap pitcher who's under club control for a while. The Angels could then spend their remaining 20 million a year budget on signing Choo to finish the offseason signings. Offer 6/120 to Choo. RF- Choo CF-Trout LF-Calhoun 1- Pujols 3- Freese 2- Howie DH- ? C- Conger/ Ianetta SS- Aybar 1/2- Weaver 1/2- Wilson 1/2- Lee 4- Santiago 5- Skaggs
  2. In the wake of the Callaspo/Green trade, I've been thinking of follow up trades the Angels can make to continue the rebuilding process. One idea I thought of was a Howie Kendrick to the Cardinals trade. The Cardinals are a serious contender who need some work up the middle. I thought a Howie for Matt Adams trade is quite a possibility. The Cardinals would then move Matt Carpenter to 3rd base to make room for Howie and possibly sit or platoon Freese who has struggled mightily this season. Now this trade would give the Angels a surplus of 1st Base/DH type players. Personally, I think Matt Adams has more potential than Trumbo and is 3 years younger which makes Trumbo a trade candidate. The Angels could then trade Trumbo to a team weak at 1st Base that is making a playoff push. For example: Trumbo to the Pirates in a deal centered around pitching prospect Jameson Taillon or to the Dbacks (Trumbo would play outfield and back up Goldy) for a deal centered around Skaggs (Dipoto loves his ex-players). These moves would surprisingly give the Angels a fairly competetive team while rebuilding at the same time. This would give the Angels a 2014 line-up of: Bourjos (CF) Trout (LF) Pujols (DH) Hammy (RF) Adams (1B) Lucho (3B) Green (2B) Conger © Aybar (SS) 2014 Rotation: Weaver Wilson Vargas Hanson/Richards (If the Angels tender him a contract) Richards/Skaggs (Taillon is fairly young and would be in the minors at least the beginning of the season) Your thoughts?
  3. I believe Shuck is definitely on that list. With all those home runs he's hit this year, I think it is obvious.
  4. After this sweep of the Tigers, I have become rather optimistic about the angels playoffs this season. They are still 7 games under 500, but they have a chance to each 500 if they play 11-3 baseball until the all star break. That may look a little bit to difficult for the angels but, looking at their schedule, I can easily see them going: 3-0 against the Astros (they can't be that bad against the LASTROS) 1-2 against the Cardinals (I think they can manage a win) 2-1 against the Red Sox (this one might be a stretch) 2-0 against the Cubs (this is certainly possible) 3-0 against the Mariners (angels usually dominate the mariners) These predictions are a bit optimistic, but I believe they are possible. Your thoughts?
