These additions just scream the turn em and burn em model from last year with Davinski & Webb..and the year before that, and the year before that.... pitch them 3-4 times a week until their arms fall off or they become so grossly ineffective that they get DFA'ed. Call up the next one rinse repeat.
That doesn't show much of a role type bullpen past your closer... It's just throwing stuff against the wall while your bullpen is getting burnt out.

They both suck.  That's the problem.  We got rid of a bad player that we gave over 80 innings to for another bad player.  They've added 4 bad pitchers to the 40 man roster so far this off season.  4 guys who are less accomplished and less likely to perform well than Aaron Loup and Ryan Tepera.  
What is the likelihood they're going to have signed these guys to major league deals and then replace them with better players before spring?  
Adam Cimber, Adam Kolarek, and Luis Garcia all have a really good shot at making this team.  Jimmy Herget is still on the roster.  Jose Suarez and Zach Plesac are likely competing for the swing spot in the rotation.  
The discussion isn't the shit show.  It's the roster composition that's a shit show.  

Interesting how a team noted for finding/building pitchers saw fit to release one guy then sign the other.
They are somewhat similar, neither guy throws particularly hard but where Barria has seen his average FB velocity increase, Plesac is down 2 MPH from where it was in 2019.  And while both guys have outperformed their FIPs, only one of them (Plesac), has enjoyed consistently playing in front of an above average defense save for 2022 when both teams put up the same exact defensive efficiency and Barria finished the season with a 2.61 ERA.

The hard hit data is where they are vastly different, Barria has proven to be a soft contact guy, Plesac serves up missiles. Another difference Plesac has been better at keeping the ball on the ground, which again makes the defense a bigger factor. Barria is two years younger.  Neither one of these guys is anything special, but the only thing Plesac brings of value over Barria is the options. 
This is one of those times where familiarity breeds contempt.  People here know what Barria is/isn't, Plesac -- not so much.

They'll sign this doofus and then stay away from Bauer due to "PR concerns."

If you’re gonna sign him, sign Bauer, at least Trev will actually help the team.

Bauer is always a controversial topic, and rightfully so. After seeing his post about a team not wanting to sign him because of the "PR hit" they would take I started thinking about it. The Angels seem to be the perfect fit for him. As the guys have pointed out on the podcast, and all media for that matter, the Angels are already viewed as a joke. Why not go and sign him, it won't lower how people perceive the team that much. 

Also, I'm a big believer in 2nd chances, and what better manager to have the Wash to help him through the opportunity? He's a man who has had to rebuild his life in the past and has done a great job at it! He could be a fantastic mentor. Also, Mookie says he wasn't a bad teammate, and I don't see how he could be any worse for the team than Rendon has been in the last couple of years. Offer a short-term prove-it deal with an option for a 2nd year. 
This could set the Angels up with a nice top-of-the-rotation if they sign Snell or Montgomery, and give them the option to package Sandoval.

At some point there is diminishing returns here imo.  I think the Dodgers are well beyond that now even.

So Trout is 8th due to recency bias but then Posey, who retired 3 years ago and put together one passable season since 2017 is 4th? And Seager finally puts together one solid season and is 6th? Yeah ok. May as well put Scooter Gennett and Todd Ziele on there too just to check if anyone's paying attention.

Angels signing Bellinger would be like the Rockies signing Ian Desmond. Just a dumb unserious team trying to spend money on anyone that will talk to them in the hopes of pretending to their fans that they're trying to win.
Like ok, we can sign no one and win 65 games or we can sign Bellinger and Snell and win 71 games but the optics will be slightly better to the most casual tier of fans who don't pay attention to wins and losses. Classic Arte move.
