I like seeing jepsen in the higher leverage situations ...last night was good ...and I do believe in j. smith ...i think our bullpen is panning out just fine ...we need rotation help ...it was certainly an alarm going into the season with 4 of our 6 guys not having exceeded 150 ip in a season ...i think if we can do what it takes to land price ...or a dominant lefty (and there is more than one out there) ...we almost HAVE to at this point right? ...it just doesn't make sense for the halos to be in this position and NOT pull the trigger ...yes there was some '86 in the title of this thread ...i remember watching as a 13yr old

1. rotation - we have six guys ...santiago can go the distance as far as ip ...angels are 6-2 in his last 8 gp and he has been mostly effective since being demoted ...skaggs prior career high ip is 38.2 and shoemaker is a rookie ...how far can they go? ...or do we follow suit with our rivals and make the trade for another top tier starter? ...there are question marks around everyone else except richards ...weaver included ...i would LIKE to win the division and not have to be subjected to the one game playoff sham ...richards, weaver, wilson, shoemaker, santiago/skaggs??? ...if we have one more move we can make ...for me ...this is it ...and has been it from the start ...richards, price/lester/lee, weaver, wilson, shoemaker/santiago ... 2. bullpen - while i believe mike is starting to push the right buttons ...i also believe j. smith is not a closer ...grilli is ...and hey ...why not jepsen? ...imo he has the best closer stuff in the pen!! ...plus fastball and very effective off-speed pitches ...he could be the most improved player we have!!...and so what about the texas game!! ...move smith back to the 7th & 8th w/ thatcher to set up ...IN CLOSE GAMES it should be one of these four guys in the 8th and beyond and NO ONE ELSE ...i think we could be a lot wiser than to trade for ANOTHER closer like h. street ...resources wasted ...our pen has the personnel ...we just need to line them up correctly ...and consistently 3. position players - the #1 offense in mlb has been to the postseason in every year except 3 since 2000 (cubs '00, rangers '08, red sox '11) ...and it has won the world series 3 times over that span (red sox '04 & '13, Yankees '09) ...6 of 11yrs in a lcs ...time to face the facts ...we're in this thing ...big ...maybe just one pitcher away ...and just maybe the cupboard isn't so bare after all ...we have DEPTH here ...can you let cron go? ...he has to be our top chip ...cowart, alvarez, rondon, etc ...there are others but we know how this goes ...how long does tampa wanna ride with a weak hitting 1b like loney??? the red sox want youth ...etc GO HALOS!!!

39% of us here are not displaying a lot of faith in the early going ...that's not cool ...but whatever ...I like what I see so far ...I know there are issues with the rotation to deal with later but we are going to score 900 runs so it doesn't matter

499 (Taylor Jordan) & 500 (Ross Detwiler) both coming on 4/22 ...and bringing the halos back to .500 baseball in the process

he is looking fastball a lot ...and having problems on the off-speed stuff ...but still headed for comeback player of the year at this rate ...I am not sure if we could ask for more right now
