What once looked like a strength in spring the pen looks suspicious as hell with the Stephenson injury, Soriano moving to the rotation and Joyce pitching with his eyes closed in the minors.

@Ron Mexico is correct.
@rafibomb, the Angels still owe him $33M for this year through 2026. The $2.5M option kicks in for 2027, if the Angels choose to exercise it. They don't have to decide until after '26.
ahhhh bummer i totally misread the years

His contract is confusing me. So we can keep him next year for just the $2.5 million option and he becomes a free agent the year after in 2026?

What a play by O'Hoppe

Keep Rendon and Trout 1-2 in the lineup
-
They are going to rule that Schanuel an error eventually i am sure

Soriano has got what it takes to be a really good starter. He was still hitting 99 towards the end of his start (around 70 pitches) so the velocity held really well. All in all I'd say it was encouraging for his starting prospects. Needs to just trust his elite stuff and not overthrowing. Also that first inning was just flat out stupid.

Mike Trout really should be hitting 2nd

Leaving the bases loaded then giving up a lead-off home run the very next inning is quite the middle finder lmao

If Juan Flores has a good year with the bat he will shoot up prospect rankings

Starting the home opener in front of his family and Moniak goes 0-4 with 2 k’s and 2 pop outs. Damn lol

Schanuel’s on-base streak in jeapordy with the late substitution
-
Rendon’s best days are obviously way behind him but also I feel like he has been notoriously the slowest starter I have ever seen since we have gotten him. The problem with him is that he always gets hurt once he starts hitting his stride. Wash should have put him in the bottom of the lineup until then though.

Why couldn't we face the A's to start the season like we always do. We would have lost still but at least it would have been closer.

If he isn't already Sandoval could really use a sports psychologist.
-
Don’t really care if he’s signed or not but the back and forth between the “he needs to be signed” and “he doesn’t” is really entertaining.

If it were entirely up to MLB I'd agree, but there is another three letter entity that has a say.

I am going to enjoy this as much as possible right now because in the end absolutely nothing of consequence will happen to Ohtani or the Dodgers.

Tucker Flint was a guy I was previously high on - skipped a level last season and went straight to Double-A after a strong debut. Having a strong start this season back with Rocket City.
