No, it was either the Angels overpay or they remain with their current teams for a team friendly deal. The Angels overpaid in both cases.

The Angels should go after Mike Maddux but they won't. The guy is the best pitching coach in the game and is great with players. I agree that Scioscia needs to go but that won't fix the Angels. Their pitching will still be garbage, they will still have the worst Farm in the league, and they will still be stuck with awful contracts. This will take 3 or 4 years.

Nope, I just read between the lines and have no bias. Obviously no one expected the Angels to be this bad but they are a poorly run organization. That much everyone can see.

I know one team that predicted this, the Rangers. They were happy to see CJ and Josh go to LAA. Any information leaked out that they were trying to give a contract to Hamilton was BS. They were just trying to appease the fans. There should have been giant red flags sent up in the Angels FO when the Rangers let their Ace go without a battle and their franchise player.

Have you seen the pitching? A little timely hitting by the Rangers and the Angels get swept. Blanton and Vargas were below average at best, especially Blanton.

I like Wilson's contract better than Harrison's, flute.

The argument was CJ was proven and Darvish wasn't worth the 100 million dollar risk. Hindsight is 20/20 but man... I had a feeling when the Rangers were not even considering giving CJ an average deal that it should of thrown up red flags for other teams...

Managers can only do so much. The pitching staff and bullpen are a complete joke. I'd say the problems are the Owner and GM but I'm more of an outside observer. Ron Washington is a horrible manager when it comes to X's and O's but Rangers management is able to cover his deficiencies with talent. He in turn is able to keep the clubhouse in order and personalities in check. Just watch Washington manage against the National league, it is brutal.

Not a quick fix. You have to build up the farm to be able to make trades and that's hard to do when you lose your first round pick every year. It's pretty obvious that they should of resigned Greinke instead of getting Hamilton. Would of given the staff more stability and would have a nice first round pick. I dont think Hamilton is a bad contract, just didnt make much sense going after him instead of keeping Greinke. The CJ Wilson signing will haunt the front office and fan base...

Hamilton stays in lala land. 1 month of greatness, followed by 2 months of WTF? He can carry a team over a 1 month stretch, though.
