  1. He may have lost a few pounds each offseason, but nothing even remotely close to this offseason. It's a dramatic difference, and I really think it's his way of showing that he and the entire organization are serious about the changes that they want to make. I wish I had the willpower to lose that much weight and the time to workout that much.
  2. I got a copy of it from Rob. He does a wonderful job writing. I might not get to it until the summer, but am looking forward to reading it!
  3. We always wonder how we can top our Fanfests, and yet we always do. This one was so great. The players we got were great people and great interviews. Having Sarah Colonna was a perfect improvement. But, for me, the highlight was seeing Bruce. Knowing that he would be with us, his Angels family, meant the most to me.
  4. Yep. Agreed. But, I don't care and I don't think he cares. He just wants to play and gives 100% every time out there. It's been a real pleasure watching him mature from a prospect to ML player.
  5. Me too Carlota69! It's going to be a dogfight this season, but I'm getting excited. I can't make any guarantees, but I can tell you that they are making all the right moves to get off to a good start this year. If they do that, they should be right in the thick of things.
  6. Yeah, I love reading Demo Dick's books. Several of his exploits occurred right here in Orange County at the Seal Beach Naval Weapons station. I really want to know which Italian restaurant he talked about in the OC in the book. Do you know Ten Ocho?
  7. Me too. Damn you thin mints! There's nothing thinning about them!
  8. I agree. He's very personable and very knowledgeable. All of these guys are, which is why I think we, as Angels fans, are very lucky. They do a great job every day trying to come up with several stories that we all get to debate endlessly.
  9. Of course I remember you! Glad you made it out there too!
  10. I very much agree. I hope we can get her back next year. She did a GREAT job!
  11. When I interviewed Scioscia, I asked him about Cron. One thing he specifically mentioned was the improved defense. Cron's hitting hasn't been as much in doubt as his defense. Hearing that his defense has improved goes a long way to improving him overall as a package.
  12. He got a lot of praise from Jerry Dipoto.
  13. Wopphil we will be posting video of all the interviews and things throughout this week for the fans who couldn't attend. But, starting planning on being there next year.
  14. Damn. I wanted to tape it and watch it with my boys after work today since they all had their first games of Little League this weekend.
  15. I am at work and am trying to set my DVR online. It's not showing up in the listings. Does anyone know if it is on? Thanks in advance!
  16. He is a very genuine and class act, as are Terry Smith, Jeff Fletcher, Mike DiGiovanna, Alden Gonzalez and Victor Rojas. As Angels fans we are very lucky to have such great guys giving us the story every day.
  17. Good article Joe. I think that these stats will take a generation to actually make an impact. Sure, the current pros will look at them and use them, but it won't be until fans really play with them, then raise their kids in Little Leagues with the knowledge gained from them, and teaching their kids how to use lessons from them, that they will impact the game. Having said that, I really want them as a fan and think that some neat things can be done with them. And, having said that, I am still very much a believer in scouts. No stat or machine can tell you what the fortitude and character of a player is, and that is always going to have a much greater impact on their performance than anything else.
  18. Claude, You always find a way to show what class Angels fans have. Glad you're a part of this site!
  19. He really did kill the ball last year. I'd like to see him stay at 3B if possible and see him jump a level to the IE66ers.
  20. When I taught a rem dial math class to get kids to pass the CAHSEE, I would have the students calculate baseball stats as warm-ups. Of course, if we happened to have a game on in the background, we were of course updating our stats to the most accurate information. I once got a student who had suffered a traumatic baseball injury to pass all of his math and science using baseball related lessons.
  21. No offense taken because I agree with you. More people would probably turn out and pay more to see him do the interview than if we did the interview. And, I would want to see the most money raised to do the most good. However, I am willing to bet that Mr. Moreno would be far more likely to attend if AngelsWin.com did the interview than if TJ Simers did it, so, in that case, maybe we would raise more money after all!
