Very well put. At the same time, Cron and Grichuck are MLB quality batters, which is better than having AAA guys like Cabbage getting the at-bats.

This team is resilient as fuck. That’s another way to look at it. They have endured a ridiculous amount of injuries to crucial players and they’re still over .500 and fighting for a spot.
Ain’t giving up on these guys ‘til they’re mathematically eliminated.

I’d almost prefer a quantity over quality return, because I don’t think you’ll get more than maybe one top prospect - one hour probably has some legit risk - for a couple months of Ohtani.
So instead of one A+ ‘Jo Adell’ circa 2021 type prospect sort, I’d like to almost try and snag back 3 B-level guys.

As someone who is 1/100th of the athlete of Trout and without the benefit of the Angels medical staff (advantage: me?), I've done something very similar. I tweaked it on a dry swing and thought/hoped it was nothing. Got into the game and let it rip, hurt like hell and shelved me for a few months. I hope I'm wrong but that looked eerily similar and did not look good.
