I mean, a 2.69 ERA is great, no doubt. But IMO, from what I've watched, he's not an elite level pitcher. Honestly? It's alot like Richards from seasons past. Is he the best we have? Yes. Would he be one of the better starting pitchers in any rotation? Yes. But...I don't know. He just doesn't feel like a true ace IMO. EDIT: To clarify, maybe it'd be better if he had more than an elite breaking ball. It's something that merits thought, no doubt.

I blame the fact we f***ing suck.

He lays off most of them until he has to. Every once in awhile he'll get called on it for strike three or gets beat. Most times he takes them for a ball or fouls them off.

The individuals upper-management hired for that job have failed repeatedly this season, and seasons past.

You know what I think? I think our second best player is injured. I think we've been plagued by injuries for several seasons. I think we're slogged down by Albert's contract for years, on top of others. I think our farm system was depleted years ago, after being arguably one of the best in the league the decade before, which sadly didn't result in a world championship. I think Scioscia's bad decisions this year don't mean shit. I think that our current situation is more a culmination of a decade of unfortunate or outright poor personal decisions. I think I've been an avid Angel's fan for close to fifteen years. I've seen us suck, and I've seen us kick ass. I think this is just another year that we suck.

Trout is going to get his money as a free agent, just like everyone else. Best case scenario is he re-signs for 4 or 5 years, then when he's old, we won't want to pay him and someone else will overpay for him. Sucks either way. Hate to see him go.
