  1. We’re only 2.5% into the season, but I thought it might be a cool thing to do one of these after each series for all to give their thoughts on the just concluded series. Positives: 3/4 of the starters gave up just 7 earned runs between them, and averaged 5 2/3 innings. The bullpen pitched well except for the 9th inning hiccup on Friday. The defense was very good, except for a case of the Knoblauchs last night. Walsh hammered the ball in his two starts. Move over Albert, here comes Jared. JUp is a different player from the past two seasons. Thank you, good heal

  2. What these three knuckleheads don't recognize is Ohtani had executed the third out but only by an error by Stassi did the inning continue. They argue it was a batter too long but the third out was executed through a strikeout. Had Stassi completed the play Ohtani may have returned to mound in the 6th inning for a batter or two.

  5. You picked the bottom of the 9th, in a tie game to go take a shower? Dude, just roll on another coat of deodorant and wear a hat but don't be missing this.

    This is a fun team

Cause winning is fun. 3 wins with no starter getting a W, Late inning run scoring. They got stars in Trout, Rendon, Ohtani. And, they got up and comers in Fletcher, Walsh, CRod. Maybe, 2021 will be the start of another golden age of Halo fandom with the first being the Vlad years.

RF is still prime for a massive upgrade if one of Marsh or Adell can take the reigns at some point this season too.

  9. Some extra info, Ohtani ran up to congratulate Walsh after the players rushed in, and there was no limping, he looked fine.

  10. Man that walk off swagger by Walsh. This is what I'm fucking talking about!

  11. Agree, except for Ohtani coming back out for the 6th. He was done.

  12. They were played poorly ..... and the easiest way to remedy that is to give him more reps at 1B. AP needs to accept his role as elder statesman and be there to support Walsh, pinch hit, and fill in when needed. He's reached all the milestones he realistically could -- the Angels have given him every chance. The best way to finish his career now is to reach the postseason one last time. They have honored AP and his legacy enough. Time to honor the present and the future.

  13. Ohtani did not get seriously injured on that freak play. I have no doubt that in past seasons he would have. Something feels just a little bit different this season... and that is a good thing.

  14. No, but when I saw it, then saw it again in a replay, I thought, “those are some fast fucking hands”

Amazing what a good bullpen does for a team.

  17. Just got home from the game, crowd was electric, even fans giving each other high fives! There's a sense of fun with this team and the fanbase, I hope it can be sustained.

  18. Love the no looker by Walsh. It's early but this season is so much more enjoyable than previous 10.

  19. How loud is the mic on the field because good god that sounded like Upton crushed the shit out of that pitch only to see it caught short of the warning track

  20. That's honestly a really unfair question to ask a kid that's spent less than a week in the majors. Like WTF are you supposed to say? He handled it with humility and class, but even if he'd really like to be a major league starter (which I have to assume he would), there's no way of saying that in the middle of week one of your rookie year without catching a bunch of flack for it.

  21. Adell's biggest weakness offensively was looking much improved during ST. He needs to consistently do it at AAA, but he was showing plate discipline he had never shown before. He's never going to be a great batting average guy, he's just got a lot of swing in miss in him, but if he can milk enough walks to compensate he will be fine -- if nothing else he will put himself into better position to "tools" his way to success like he has in the minors. But that's not going to happen if he's always in 1-2, 0-2 counts. Defensively....just play Benny Hill theme and enjoy the funny.

  22. After so many years of terrible luck, it would be great to have some good luck. Or, at the very least, merely the absence of shitty luck this season would be a welcome change.

  23. The starters were mostly good, but should be elaborated on more... Bundy looked better than last year, and Cobb's swing-and-miss stuff was much more impressive than I expected. Very encouraging. And Heaney's start wasn't anything weird for him, just happened to be his first start of year. Not worried yet. Giving up a grand slam to the reigning MVP happens sometimes.

  25. The hands were Bonds-like, I thought. I really want Walsh's 2020 to be legit, and last night was a great sign.

  26. The line-up seems much improved too. Watching the 9th inning yesterday I still felt confident even after Trout's S/O that the Angels would get it done - a feeling I haven't had for years. Ohtani is a helluva weapon to have in the two spot, and after Trout and Rendon's usual on-base excellence at the heart of the line-up Walsh and Upton are zoned in and raking, with Iglesias and Stassi also contributing behind those two. The line-up just keeps on going and really doesn't give opposing pitchers any respite until the 9 spot. Props to Fowler for his timely 9th inning hit btw, was most unexpected a

  27. After the Angels gifted the Sox that run in the top of the 9th, I thought to myself 'At least this will be a good chance to see what this team is made of.' I know it's only four games, but I do have a better feeling about this offense than I have had in many, many years.

  30. The big issue (for me), is the correlation between fatigue and injury and a guy on the mound that hasn't pitched much in four years. I was having Terry Collins/Ken Hill flashbacks. Now we get to see if there is any carryover.

  31. From CWS board: He is like 99th percent tile in exit velocity, sprint speed, and pitch velocity. He is an alien and we've never seen anything like it.

  32. A few other things; I loved the fact that we were work working counts and getting the pitch count high against the sox's pitchers. The one downside i noticed, was that we got a lot of help from the Sox's defense. Most other teams won't have that crappy of a defense.
