    Bob Lazar and Area 51

SR-71 eh? "There were a lot of things we couldn't do in an SR-71, but we were the fastest guys on the block and loved reminding our fellow aviators of this fact. People often asked us if, because of this fact, it was fun to fly the jet. Fun would not be the first word I would use to describe flying this plane. Intense, maybe. Even cerebral. But there was one day in our Sled experience when we would have to say that it was pure fun to be the fastest guys out there, at least for a moment. It occurred when Walt and I were flying our final training sortie. We needed 100 hours in the jet

  8. Rengifo was the only one available to play 2b with experience there, maybe he was unavailable? Either way, the Thaiss error didn't cost the Angels the game. I still appreciate that everyone feels like the Angels have a chance at the playoffs but it is so unlikely.

  19. Minor league baseball has been my sanctuary from having a crappy major league team over the last several year. Not having it this year is probably the second biggest source of pain from 2020 baseball for me. The first being that the major league team hasn't played well.

  21. The Angels used their #1 picks, two years in a row to draft a catcher. Quality scouting by the organization created this massive hole. I know, who could possibly know what prospect will develop into a major league player, blah, blah, blah. The Dodgers, Tampa Bay, Oakland, just to name a few, don’t seem to have this problem. I don’t care if Eppler stays or goes, but the scouting and player development needs to improve for this team to have a chance.

Thanks TORS. My engine is currently assigned to the El Dorado Fire in Yucaipa. Been here since 9/4, but before that we were assigned to the Lightning CZU Complex near Santa Cruz and was there for 15 days. Ive seen the wife twice in 22 days, and missed the birth of Grandson #2 4 days ago. Haven’t seen much Halo baseball in the last 3 weeks because of crappy cell service, but for some reason near Forest Falls, I have a signal. Miss the AW board but will hopefully be back soon.

EXCLUSIVE: President nominated for Nobel Peace Prize after Israel-UAE deal Just weeks after helping to broker peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), President Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. The nomination submitted by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, lauded Trump for his efforts toward resolving protracted conflicts worldwide. “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, a four-term member of Parliament who a

  36. If you remember the first few years that the Angels were in LA they played a lot of day games and Double Headers. The reason being was that the Angeles were the only American League baseball team on the west coast back then. They were at least 2000 miles from their nearest rival. So when teams were scheduled to come to LA they usually need some extra time to get here. And when the series was over they needed extra time to return back home. Back then the American League scheduled a lot of off days and double headers for teams scheduled coming to the west coast. Not many baseball teams flew

  45. Me too (check out my screen name). Actually I've been an Angels baseball fan since the late 1940s when my dad use to take me to see the old 'PCL Angels' play in old Wrigley Field. When the Dodgers moved here in 1958 they bought the 'PCL Angel' team and moved my favorite team out of town. I really hated the Dodgers for that. On the day after the Angels held their original 'Player Draft' in December of 1960, I could hardly wait to get my hands on the morning paper to see who they had selected. As I looked at the list I recognized very few names. I collected bubble-gum baseball cards back th

  47. End of April 1966: Halos score 12 runs in the 8th at Fenway. I read about it the next day in a Charlotte newspaper, and become a fan a month before moving out here as a 9 year-old with my parents. That 1979 series with the Skanks was an epic sweep. Ryan’s near no-no, Baylor’s 3 run shot off the foul pole the next night in the 9th to tie it, and Grich’s game winner that Sunday Dick Enberg’s call on Baylor’s shot: “He hit the foul pole! He hit the foul pole! Oh my!”
