  9. Everyone (including myself) seems to critique Eppler to the core as to why we didn’t go after some of these guys. But this isn’t the first time he’s passed on key free agents. Take a look at Joe Kelley too. It seems he already knows some players success will not translate to what they are demanding in dollars. Obviously that’s been a main issue in free agency already. Bryce Harper is the the only marquee free agent who is actually playing out of his mind right now. I’m sure Eppler knew Bryce would play this well. But his job was to lock up our main fish here (which he did) I’

  10. Pretty sure every human being with an actual brain, would rather be a 1-5 team with a Red Sox roster than a 1-5 Angels roster. There’s actually hope over there.

Do we have to pretend that this assortment of 5th starters and journeymen is capable of turning it around? Lets not kid ourselves. The record wouldn't be a big deal if the roster actually looked like it had potential.

  18. With all due respect Strad you’re using a very narcissistic approach with your “I’m right and everyone else is wrong”. It’s the vent thread, let’em vent. It’s just an observation and not meant to be personal. You’ve got to stop calling people stupid for giving their opinions. Right or wrong.

So early guys. All they need is a day off to regroup and be ready to pounce. This team has future World Series Champ written all over it. Some of you see it already. The rest will see when they go on a tear starting Thursday winning 21 of their next 22 games. It's a lock

  24. It's too bad we can't all be Superfans like certain people here. I just hope we have a playoff caliber team before Trout's 12 years are up. Give me just one season of that please.

    The Offense

If you recall most of my targets were places we do not have significant farm depth in the near future thus limiting the risk or blockage etc... but otherwise you are correct. The one area we have always disagreed is priority. You and many others put pitching a far distant priority over anything else, specifically starting pitching. I see the game differently thats all. With so called bullpen games and designated starters from the bullpen to me i see SP as having less value that it maybe once did due to the fact that there are far fewer truly dominant starters in the game today.

    The Offense

I agree with the premise of one not excluding the other. I also see that signing guys to multi year deals just because they are the best available isn’t really a good way of doing business and you are seeing baseball agree with that premise as well. So when other teams sign this off season’s shiny objects to multi year deals it has hurt more than it has helped those teams. For every guy who has performed there are 3 that haven’t. Should they have signed Moustakas last year, probably, but they offered him 6.5 times the money he eventually got and he turned it down. I would have liked them

  30. That's why Bryce Harper is must-see-TV or better yet - why I make an effort to see him at a ball park each season. He has a flare for the dramatic and shines in big moments quite often. I can understand the hate, but I find him entertaining and at the end of the day - baseball should be entertaining. I still would prefer to watch Mike Trout any day of the week... but I can appreciate the show Harper is capable of putting on, on any given day.

Tommy John is never gone. He is always here, waiting for his opportunity to take down another pitcher.

  32. Don't take this away from them. These sniveling bags of waaaa that only show up when they can gleefully say how they knew the team would suck. Give them their 5 minutes of joy

  34. Its not 6 games...its disappointment after disappointment. Its being excited for Albert Pujols only to be let down. Its being excited for CJ and Hamilton, only to be let down. Its exciting to make the playoffs with Trout, only to be swept. Its year after year of the rotation falling apart to injury, of potential wasted to Tommy John. Its another patchwork offense filled with journeymen and has beens. It's frustration.

  35. why sign Trout to that huge 12 year extension if we are going to continue to bat Pujols FOURTH.?? HUH? Tonight's game -- first and third down one run in the top of the ninth. Trout at third because of his base running ability/ instinct on that base hit up the middle. Pujols up next. ALL WE NEED IS A FLY BALL TO TIE THE GAME UP. Trout at third with the tying run. Pujols STRIKE THREE, I guess we should be grateful that he did not hit into a game ending GIDP. If Lucroy hit fourth (not suggesting he should) that ground ball that ends the game instead scores Trout fro

I'll be honest, there isn't much worth with this team. They suck and look bad on paper, too. I won't be tuning g in much this season unless to have background TV while I clean the home. They just don't look good enough to invest time in. This team sucks.
